Nagpur Institute of Technology admission to the UG programs is based on national-level exams accepted by the institute. NIT Nagpur is well known for its undergraduate B.Tech program, which is offered under five different specializations of Engineering via regular mode. Admission to the B.Tech program is done through the JEE Main entrance examination followed by the JoSAA Counseling process. Admission to the UG course is based on merit of marks obtained by the candidate in MHT-CET organized by DTE, Maharashtra. Candidates possessing valid JEE Main scores are also eligible to seek admission. Students from Maharashtra have to compulsorily appear for MHT-CET entrance examination.

NIT Nagpur offers various undergraduate courses including computer science and engineering, information technology, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and electrical engineering. The minimum requirements for admission in B.Tech courses are 10+2 with physics, mathematics, and any chemistry/ biology/ biotechnology with a minimum of 50% marks.
Admission into the UG course is granted on the merit of marks scored by the candidate in MHT-CET conducted by DTE, Maharashtra. Candidates having valid JEE Main score can also seek admission. Students who belong to Maharashtra are required to appear compulsorily for MHT-CET entrance examination.
To enroll, all of the applicants would be required to undergo the Centralized Admission Process (CAP). Apart from that, other state and J & K candidates would only be allocated on the basis of JEE Main scorecard. 20% of the seats are allocated via Institute/ Management Quota, and 65% of seats are allocated through CAP.
