National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), established in 2008, is a state university located at Gandhinagar, Gujrat. The University offers education through the Institute of Forensic Sciences, Institute of Behavioural Sciences, and Institute of Research & Development. NFSU provides a variety of regular and online courses under these institutes. The online courses are certificate courses offered by the Institute of Forensic Sciences. The other two institutes mainly offer regular courses.
The courses offered by the NFSU mainly include M.Sc., MS, Integrated MS, M.Phil, PhD, PG Diploma and MBA programmes. Along with these main courses, the University offers M.Tech in certain specialisations, Post Basic Diploma, Professional Diploma and M.Pharm programmes.
The M.Sc. and MS programmes last two years, while the PG Diploma programmes take one year to complete. The MBA programme also takes two years to complete. The online courses take a total of six months to complete. The M.Phil programme is a full-time two-year course, while the PhD must be at least of three years duration.
NFSU M.Sc Admission 2025
NFSU provides M.Sc. in different categories. All three institutes under the GFSU offer various kinds of Master of Science programmes related to their fields. The intake capacity of the courses depends on the specialisation one chooses. The University has not specified any intake capacity for some of the Behavioural Sciences M.Sc. programmes. The essential qualification the programme demands is a Bachelor’s degree in a related subject with at least 50%-55% marks.
For admission into the M.Sc. courses of any institute, the candidates must qualify for the entrance examination conducted by the University. Each institute will conduct its entrance test separately and the candidates will have to apply for them separately as well. NFSU MBA Finance is a special programme that specialises in forensic accounting. This particular programme is under the Institute of Forensic Science. The usual intake capacity of the programme is 40 seats, including all the reservations. The candidate must graduate with a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks to be eligible.
For admission into MBA Finance, the candidate must clear the entrance examination conducted by the University. After qualifying for the entrance test, the candidate will be called for an interview. Based on the interview score, the University will select the appropriate candidates.

NFSU PG Diploma courses are of one-year duration. This particular programme is only offered by the Institute of Forensic Sciences and the Institute of Behavioural Sciences. The total intake capacity for the Institute of Forensic Sciences is around 35 seats. The total intake capacity for the Behavioural Sciences Institute is around 20 seats.
For the PG Diploma courses under IFS, the candidate must be a graduate in the related field with a minimum of 50% marks. The candidate will also have to pass an entrance test conducted by the university, after which the candidate will be called for an interview.
