How to apply

To apply for admission to the National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC), candidates must follow a structured process based on various national-level entrance exams. Here’s a brief overview of the application procedure and requirements:

Admission Process Overview

  1. Entrance Exams: Admission to NITC is primarily based on scores from national entrance exams such as:
    • JEE Main for B.Tech and B.Arch programs.
    • GATE for M.Tech programs.
    • CAT for MBA programs.
    • IIT JAM for M.Sc programs.
    • NIMCET for MCA programs.
  2. Online Application: Candidates must apply online through the official websites of the respective entrance exams. For instance, to apply for JEE Main, students should register on the NTA website (nta.ac.in) and follow the application steps, which include filling out the form, uploading documents, and paying the application fee
  3. Counseling Process: After obtaining valid scores, candidates must participate in counseling processes:
    • For B.Tech admissions, candidates are allotted seats through JoSAA Counseling.
    • M.Tech admissions involve CCMT Counseling, while M.Sc admissions require participation in CCMN Counseling.
  4. Document Verification and Fee Payment: Once seats are allocated, candidates must verify their documents and pay the admission fees to confirm their enrollment.

Important Documents Required

During the application process, candidates typically need to submit:

  • Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets
  • Valid photo ID proof
  • Character certificate
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Proof of date of birth
  • Entrance exam scorecard

This structured approach ensures that admissions at NIT Calicut are merit-based and transparent, providing opportunities for students across various disciplines.
