NIT Silchar admits students to UG, PG and Ph.D. courses in 20 departments primarily based on a national-level entrance examination. Candidates eligible for the doctoral programme are selected through a written test followed by a personal interview conducted by the institute. NIT Silchar B.Tech Admission

NIT Silchar offers B.Tech at the under-graduate level for 4 years. The B.Tech courses are undertaken in 6 specializations that include Computer Science Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical and Civil Engineering.

NIT Silchar M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• Students passing the graduation test with a minimum percentile of 60 will also be considered eligible for admission.
• Students with a B.Tech or B.E. qualification can also apply for this programme.

• The student has to take the GATE exam and get a rank which is valid.
• The board arranges the counselling process for the selected pupils after the GATE scores are out.

NIT Silchar offers students a 2 year duration MBA program specializing in 3 fields namely Marketing, Finance and Human Resources.

NIT Silchar MBA Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates should have graduated from any recognized university with a minimum 55% or 6.0 CGPA.
• Candidates must appear for CAT/ CMAT/ MAT with a minimum percentile of 55.

NIT Silchar PhD Admission

The University offers doctorate level programs as well in almost all disciplines under the Institute. Applications are accepted for these programs in two batches, the first being the July – December batch where applications close towards the end of the month of April.

NIT Silchar PhD Eligibility Criteria

• M.E./ M.Tech. or equivalent in an appropriate area with a minimum CPI of 6.5 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (60% of marks). A minimum of 8.0 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (75% of marks). In case of candidates with M.E./M. Tech. from IITs/NITs the minimum CPI requirement is 7.0 (on a 10 point scale).
• A Master's degree in a relevant discipline with at least a CPI of 6.5 on a 10-point scale or equivalent (60% of marks).

NIT Silchar PhD Selection Criteria

• Admission to NIT Silchar Phd would be based on the entrance examination and interview conducted by NIT.
• Candidates qualified under CSIR or CBSE NET/JRF will be exempted from the entrance test.
