St. Joseph’s College is a Jesuit Institution. It draws its inspiration from the life and teaching of Jesus Christ and was founded in 1882 by the Fathers of the French Foreign Mission. It is Accredited by the NAAC IV cycle: ‘A++’ level with a score of 3.79/4.
The college is autonomous and is affiliated to Bangalore University. Autonomy confers on the college the right to frame its syllabus and conduct its own internal and semester examinations.
St. Joseph University offers UG, PG and other courses to students. These courses are provided across the Science, Literature, and various other streams.
It provides quality education to many students from the Socio-economically marginalised section of society without compromising academic standards. The University of Madras is Granted the Institution the status of a First Grade College.
