The University of Kalyani, established in 1960, is a state-government administered, affiliating, and Research University in the Nadia district of West Bengal. The university offers a wide range of UG, PG, and Research-level courses in the streams of Science, Arts & Commerce, Education, and Engineering, Technology & Management, and Music & Fine Arts. The admission procedure for Kalyani University varies for different courses. For admission to some of the courses, the university conducts separate entrance tests, interviews, and group discussions to evaluate the courses, whereas, for some courses, admission is purely based on merit in the qualifying examination. Admission to B.Tech is done based on the WBJEE entrance examination. Selection for MCA is done based on the JECA entrance examination. At the undergraduate level, Kalyani University offers B.Tech in two specializations, B.Ed, B.P.Ed, and Integrated M.Sc. courses at the UG level.

Eligibility: Candidate must have passed the Qualifying Examination i.e. the ‘10+2’ examination with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Application as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above in regular class mode. b) Must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above three subjects taken together. c) Must have passed English in the ‘10+2’ examination with at least 30% marks.

1. For B.Tech., admission will be through entrance and counseling by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WB-JEE)
2. For B.P.Ed, candidates need to appear in the entrance test, which consists of the Games and Motor fitness test.
3. There will be no entrance test for admission to the 5-Year Integrated M.Sc. Course in Statistics. Admission is based on marks obtained in the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.

Kalyani University PG Admission 2024

Kalyani University offers a wide range of Postgraduate level courses under various specialization subjects. The university provides an M.A. degree under 12 different specializations, an M.Sc. under 15 different specializations, and an M.Tech. under two specializations.

1. The Entrance Test for various Post-graduate courses in Science, Arts & Commerce, MRDM, M.Ed., and M.Tech. in Environmental Management will consist of only a written test.
2. For M. Tech. in Communication Engineering admission will be through Entrance Test and Interview.
3. Admission to M.Tech.in Computer Science and Engineering, course will be done through written tests and interviews conducted by the department. Preference will be given to the GATE-qualified candidates.
4. For MCA, students will be admitted through state-level examination (JECA) conducted by the Joint Entrance Board, West Bengal.
5. For MBA, admission of candidates will be through CMAT/MAT/CAT/JEMAT Examination followed by Personal Interview and Group Discussion. Candidates appearing for interviews should bring valid CMAT/MAT/CAT/JEMAT Score Card along with their original credentials.
6. For admission to the Department of Visual Arts, selection will be based on merit of the qualifying exam including performance of the written test and interview test.
7. Admission to the Department of Microbiology, Molecular Biology, and Biotechnology is done by an entrance examination conducted by the university.
8. For MFA, admission will be through an entrance test and interview.

Kalyani University Ph.D., M.Phil Admission 2024

Kalyani University offers both Ph.D. and M.Phil. degrees under 76 different specializations. The duration of all these programs is around 2-5 years.

Admission to Ph.D. and M.Phill. Programs are done by Kalyani University Research Eligibility Test (KURET) / EEARP/ KURAT followed by Personal Interviews conducted by the university.

Admission to the D.Sc. / D.Litt. course will be open to those who have a Ph.D. from this University or any other recognized university. A candidate possessing only a Master’s degree or equivalent degree may also be considered for the D.Sc. or D.Litt. provided that his/ her already published work is certified by an expert committee as of outstanding merit and equivalent to the Ph.D. thesis.

3. is a whole time teacher of this University or any other University / Institute recognized by this University
4. is a whole time teacher of Govt./Govt. aided College

A candidate shall be exempted from appearing in the M.Phil. Admission Test provided that he/she has qualified in NET/SLET/SET/GATE /KURAT/KURET/ EEARP or any other national or State level test for pursuing teaching or research.
