University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE) was established in 1917. It provides courses such as BE, ME, and Ph.D. across multiple departments. Admissions are exclusively granted through a Common Entrance Test (CET) / Aptitude Test administered by the Karnataka Government.
- To be admitted to B.E. programs, students must first pass the KCET.
- Aspiring architects must pass the NATA entrance exam.
- Candidates who have passed GATE or PGCET can enrol in the ME program.
- Admission to Ph.D. programs is dependent on qualifying GATE, UGC-NET, or KCET scores.
The institution was created by Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvarya and is associated with the University of Bangalore. The college is located on K.R Circle in Bangalore. UVCE is located on the Jnana Campus, which covers an area of 50 acres. The college just celebrated its centenary anniversary. During the placement drive, around 97 companies visited school and recruited over 430 students. Almost 90% of pupils were given the option to be recruited.

Students interested in applying for B.Tech or BE sit the Karnataka Common Entrance Test. The application cost is paid via challan; students residing outside of Karnataka are asked to pay INR 750. - Applicants must first register as new users by filling out the appropriate fields to create a new user id and password.

How to apply for GATE?
Applications are accepted through GOAPS' official website. Where the applicant must first register to generate a new registration with a single unique email address. Documents Required
- Scanned photo and signature
- Valid photo identification (Aadhaar card, passport, driver's license, PAN card, voter ID, college ID, employee identification card, or notarised affidavit with photo, signature, date of birth, and residential address).
- Degree certificate, provisional certificate, or course completion certificate.
- A copy of the V, VI, and VII semester mark sheets.
- Final-year students must submit a Provisional Certificate Letter in the format specified by the Home of Institute/Dean/Registrar/Head of Department.
- Candidates in the final year of AMIE must submit their mark sheets for Section A of AMIE if they hold professional equivalent qualifications.

How to Apply for B.E. and B.Arch Admissions at UVCE 2025
Students might take the following processes for admission:
- Students must visit the K.R Circle Campus once the allocation of Final Round Seats is announced on this page.
- UVCE application forms can be obtained from the Admission Office by submitting an admission order issued by KEA and any required documents.
- Online fee receipt for Rs.12,500/- (Twelve Thousand Five Hundred Rupees Only) paid only through the Bangalore University website.
- Students from Class 12 boards other than the Department of Pre-University Education Karnataka will pay Rs. 1500/-. The total sum will be 14,000 INR.
Note: The college will not accept cash transactions. Only online fee payments are accepted. Documents Required:
