Birla Institute of Technology and Science Higher Degree Admission Test (BITS HD-2024)

BITS (Birla Institute of Technical Science) Pilani holds an online entrance exam called BITS HD. BITS HD 2024 stands for Birla Institute of Technical Science Higher Degree. This test is for people who want to join higher degree programs at BITS, which can lead to a Master's in Engineering (ME) or Pharmacy (M.Pharm).

These programs are available at all three BITS campuses: Pilani, Hyderabad, and Goa. It's important to know that apart from BITS HD, you can also get into BITS Higher Degree programs through GATE or GPAT scores. BITS HD 2024 allows you to apply for three types of higher degrees: Master of Engineering (ME), Master of Philosophy (MPhil), and Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) in different subjects.

BITS has four campuses in total: Pilani, Dubai, Goa, and Hyderabad. However, the BITS HD test is only held at three of them: Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. BITS HD is a national-level entrance test, meaning candidates from all over the country can apply for it. The exam takes place once a year, and it's done online.

BITS HD 2024 Application Fee Structure:

IMPORTANT: You can pay the fee in two ways. The first way is to pay online using a credit card, debit card, or internet banking. The second option is to go to an ICICI bank and make a cash payment.

Here are the application fees

1. For everyone, if you're female, it's Rs. 1700/-
2. For everyone, if you're male, it's Rs. 2200/-
3. If you choose to take the test in Dubai (you can choose this), whether you're male or female, it's Rs. 3000/-

BITS HD 2024 Application Form

BITS HD 2024 Application Fee

For the BITS HD 2024 application form, candidates need to pay INR 3150. If you're seeking admission through a GATE 2024 score, the fee is Rs 1000. Keep in mind that once you've paid the application fee, it won't be refunded. Here are the details:

BITS HD Eligibility Criteria 2024

IMPORTANT: The BITS HD 2024 eligibility criteria have two parts, and we've listed them below. The organization in charge of the exam will post the BITS HD eligibility requirements on their official website. Before you fill out the application form, it's a good idea to read through the BITS HD 2024 eligibility criteria.

If you don't meet these criteria, you won't be considered eligible for admission. To take the BITS HD 2024 exam, you should have scored at least 60% in your previous degree.

Educational Criteria

People who have completed their undergraduate degree in engineering are eligible to apply. You must have an engineering degree. If you want to enter the Biotechnology stream, you should have good knowledge of biology. For those aiming for chemical engineering, civil engineering, or mechanical engineering, you need to have a degree in that specific engineering field.

For admission to the software systems stream, you should have a degree in engineering or technology with relevant coursework. If you're interested in electronics, you should have a degree in electrical, electronics & instrumentation, physics, or computer science.

Regarding marks and percentage

You need to score a minimum of sixty marks in your Bachelor's degree in engineering.

BITS HD Exam Pattern 2024

IMPORTANT: The BITS HD test has two parts and a special programming paper. Students who choose to take the programming paper must also take the first paper and the special paper but do not need to take the second paper.

Here's some information about PAPER – 1

1. It's an online test.
2. The first paper for BITS HD admission will last for sixty minutes.
3. The questions in the first paper will be multiple-choice questions.
4. The question paper will have four sections: English language skills & Principles of management, Core Maths, Computer programming & Core Physics.
5. Each correct answer will earn you 3 marks.
6. One mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Now, here's some information about PAPER – 2

1. This is also an online test.
2. The questions in the second paper will be multiple-choice questions, and they will cover basic knowledge in various subjects.
3. This paper will consist of 100 questions.
4. There's a special test for Software Programming Applicants.
5. The duration of this special test is 60 minutes.
6. It contains only multiple-choice questions related to software programming, and there are 50 questions in total.

BITS HD 2024 Counseling

The BITS authority will give out admission offer letters. You can download this admission offer letter online. Only the applicants who have made it to the merit list will be able to get admission into the HD programs.
