Common Law Admission Test (CLAT-2025)

National-level entrance exam for UG and PG law program admissions in national law universities across India.

This feature will be available soon

Every year, the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) publishes the CLAT syllabus and structure. The Consortium updated the CLAT exam pattern for the 2025 exam. It is anticipated that the consortium won't make any modifications to the CLAT Exam Pattern 2025 given that it was altered for CLAT 2024. If it stays the same, the English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques sections will make up the 120 sections and five parts of the CLAT Question Paper 2025.

CLAT 2025's test pattern will include crucial details like the exam's format, total number of questions, marking system, etc. It is recommended that candidates familiarize themselves with the CLAT 2025 exam format in full before taking the exam. It should be mentioned that preparing for the CLAT involves familiarizing yourself with its exam pattern as well. See below for comprehensive information about the CLAT test pattern 2025, including sectional weighting, exam structure, time limit for each section, marking system, and sections.

CLAT Exam Pattern 2025 - Key Features

It is important for applicants taking the CLAT 2025 to be aware that the consortium has not yet made the CLAT Exam Pattern available. In the interim, applicants can begin preparing by reviewing the CLAT Exam Pattern 2024 below

  1. Questions based on passages: The remaining four parts, with the exception of CLAT Quantitative Technique section 2025, will all have questions based on passages. There will be 450-word passages in the English, Current Affairs, and Logical Reasoning areas. There will be brief sections (approximately 350 words) in the section on logical reasoning. There will be a set of questions after each passage.
  2. Section on Quantitative Techniques: This section will contain brief statements, arguments, graphs, and other visual aids. The candidate must infer responses from these readings, illustrations, etc.
  3. Total questions and marking system for CLAT 2025: There will be 120 multiple-choice questions in the UG exam, and each question will be worth one mark.
  4. Negative marking: An erroneous response will result in a 0.25 mark deduction.
  5. The CLAT 2025 exam has a total of 120 marks.
  6. Exam complexity: The CLAT exam in 2025 will be at Class 12 difficulty. The quantitative techniques section contains questions with a Class 10 difficulty level.
  7. Skills to be assessed: Candidates' comprehension and reasoning abilities will be assessed by the CLAT UG question paper. So, memorizing facts by heart won't work.
