IMU CET 2025 Eligibility Criteria: The Indian Maritime University is expected to release the IMU CET Eligibility Criteria details in the official notification PDF. Candidates who meet the IMU CET 2025 Eligibility Criteria become eligible for the common entrance test as well as subsequent admission procedures. In case it is found that any of the candidates has given wrong information regarding their suitability for the IMU CET, their application will be ineligible for the selection. Only the candidates who fulfill all the eligibility requirements and fill in the IMU CET application form within the specified timeframe will be allowed to appear in the IMU CET 2025 for getting admission in Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Research courses at IMU campuses and its affiliated institutions. IMU CET 2025 General Eligibility Criteria

IMU CET 2025 Detailed Eligibility Criteria

Indian Maritime University (IMU) conducts the IMU CET 2025 for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the maritime field. Candidates must meet specific eligibility requirements based on the course they apply for. The criteria include age limits, educational qualifications, minimum marks, and medical fitness. For B.Tech and B.Sc. programs, candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Class 12. BBA applicants can be from any stream. IMU CET eligibility for 4-Year B.Tech (Marine Engineering) – Residential

Criteria Description
Educational qualification 10+2/equivalent (PCM-Average: Minimum 60% and a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th / 12th Examination). Marital status – Unmarried.
Age Criteria Maximum age: The reference date for the calculation of the age will be 01.08.2025. For Males: General-25 years, OBC (NCL) - 28 years, SC/ST-30 years For Female: General-27 years, OBC (NCL) - 30 years, SC/ST-32 years.
Relaxation For SC/ST candidates: There will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks of PCM; however, it will not apply to English Marks. A relaxation of 5% in English marks will apply to candidates who are natives of the Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and belong to their Scheduled Tribes and who & both of whose parents were born in those islands & belong to the Scheduled Tribes of those islands.
Medical conditions Physical Fitness: Candidates seeking admission to this Marine Engineering Programme must be medically fit including eyesight and hearing as prescribed in the Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination) Rules, 2000, as amended.
Eyesight: There shall be no evidence of any morbid condition of either eye or of the lids of either eye which may be liable to risk of aggravation or recurrence. Candidates must possess good binocular vision (Fusion faculty and full field of vision in both eyes). Movement of the eyeballs must be full in all directions and the pupils should react normally to light and accommodation. Normal colour vision shall be tested by Ishihara Test Chart. Distance Vision unaided 0.5*(6/12) in each eye or 0.67*(6/9) in the better eye and 0.33 (6/18) in the other eye.
Medical certificate requirement At the time of admission, candidates will be required to produce a certificate of medical fitness issued by doctors approved by the Directorate General of Shipping.

IMU CET 2025 Eligibility Criteria for 4-Year B.Tech (Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering) – Residential

Criteria Description
Educational Qualification 10+2/equivalent (PCM Average-Minimum 60%) with minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th / 12th Examination.
Age Criteria Maximum age: The reference date for calculation of the age will be from the date of commencement of the Academic Session (01.08.2025). For Male: General-25 years, OBC(NCL)-28 years, SC/ST-30 years For Female/Transgender: General-27 years, OBC(NCL)-30 years, SC/ST-32 years.
Relaxation For SC/ST candidates: There will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks of PCM; however, it will not apply to English Marks.
Eligibility Medical All Candidates who qualify for this course will have to submit a Physical Fitness Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner at the time of Certificate Verification

IMU CET 2025 Eligibility Criteria for 4-Year B.Tech (Naval Architecture and Ship Building) – Residential

Criteria Description
Educational Qualification 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks. Candidates must have at least 50% marks in English in Class 10 or Class 12.
Age Criteria Maximum age calculated as of 01.08.2025.  For Males: General - 25 years, OBC (NCL) - 28 years, SC/ST - 30 years.  For Females/Transgender: General - 27 years, OBC (NCL) - 30 years, SC/ST - 32 years.
Relaxation SC/ST candidates receive a 5% relaxation in PCM marks, but no relaxation in English marks.

IMU CET 2025 eligibility for 3-Year B.Sc. (Nautical Science) – Residential

Criteria Description
Eligibility Criteria 10+2/equivalent (PCM Average-Minimum 60% and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th / 12th Examination). Marital status – Unmarried.
Age Criteria Maximum age: The reference date for calculation of the age will be from the date of commencement of the Academic Session (01.08.2025) For Male: General-25 years, OBC(NCL)-28 years, SC/ST-30 years For Female: General-27 years, OBC(NCL)-30 years, SC/ST-32 years.
Relaxation For SC/ST candidates: There will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks of PCM; however, it will not apply to English Marks. IMU CET 2025 Eligibility Criteria for 1-Year DNS course leading to B.Sc (Applied Nautical Science) – Residential

Note: Transgender are eligible for the B.Tech. (Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering) & B.Tech. (Naval Architecture and Ship Building) and they should meet the requisite eligibility criteria.

Educational Qualification 10+2/equivalent (PCM Average-Minimum 60%) with minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th / 12th Examination. OR B.Sc. in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or Electronics with Physics as individual subject in one of the years, with an average of not less than 55% of the marks in the final year. OR B.E./B.Tech Degree from IIT or from a college recognised by AICTE with an average of not less than 50% of the marks in the final year. Marital status: Unmarried Note: The candidate should have a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th / 12th / Degree Examinations.

Relaxation for SC/ST candidates Candidates will have a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks.
Eligibility Medical Aspiring candidates qualified for MBA (Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering) will have to submit a Physical Fitness Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner.

IMU CET 2025 Eligibility Criteria for 2-Year M.Tech (Dredging and Harbour Engineering) – Non-Residential

Criteria Description
Educational Qualification Engineering Graduate in Mechanical/ Civil/ Marine/ Naval Architecture/BTech (Fisheries Engineering) or equivalent with 55% in aggregate marks
Age Criteria There is no age restriction
Relaxation for SC/ST candidates (if any) Candidates will have a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks.
Eligibility Medical Aspiring candidates qualified for MBA (Dredging and Harbour Engineering) will have to submit a Physical Fitness Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner.

IMU CET 2025 Eligibility Criteria for 2-Year M.Tech (Marine Technology) – Non-Residential

Criteria Description
Eligibility BE/BTech in Marine Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Naval Architecture with at least 55% in aggregate marks from a recognized University. OR Associate Member of Institution of Engineers Part A and B in Mechanical Engineering with at least 55% marks (by examination). OR MEO Class I Certificate of Competency Issued by Govt. of India Note: Candidates with GATE Scores in Marine Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture are exempted from IMU’s CET, however, they will be considered only against the residuary seats, if any.

Relaxation for SC/ST candidates (if any) Candidates from SC/ST group will have a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks.

Criteria Description
Educational Qualification Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in any field must have a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from respected universities. Candidates must have a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th/12th/UG Degree.e
Age Criteria There is no age restriction
Relaxation Candidates from SC/ST group will have a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks. However, no relaxation will be there for English Marks.
