JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates can check their eligibility for appearing in JEE Advanced 2025 below. There are 5 criteria:

1. JEE Main 2025 scores

Candidates should be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (including all categories) in the BE/BTech Paper of JEE (Main) 2025. Last year, as many as 250284 candidates passed JEE Mains to appear for JEE Advanced. Check the table below:

2. Age limit

Applicants must have been born on October 1, 2000, or later. SC, ST, and PwD applicants are granted a five-year age relaxation; that is, they must have been born on or after October 1, 1995.

3. Number of attempts

A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in two consecutive years. Candidates who have appeared for JEE Advanced 2024 for the first time can also appear for JEE Advanced 2025. Also, the candidates who will appear for JEE Advanced 2025 for the first time can participate in JEE Advanced 2026. Candidates who took JEE Advanced in 2023 or earlier cannot appear in JEE Advanced 2025.

4. Appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination

Candidates who passed Class 12 in 2024 or 2025 are eligible for JEE Advanced 2025.

Regardless of the combination of topics attempted or offered, candidates who took the Class XII (or equivalent) test for the first time in 2023 or earlier are not eligible to take the JEE (Advanced) 2025 exam.

5. Earlier admission at IITs

Regardless of whether they stayed in the program or accepted an IIT seat by reporting online or at a reporting center, an applicant should not have previously been admitted to an IIT.

Change in JEE Advanced eligibility: OCI/PIO card holders who have secured OCI/PIO cards before 04.03.2021 are considered Indian nationals for seat allocation to IITs.

JEE Advanced 2025 Application Form

Those in the top 2.5 lakh JEE Main 2025 rankings can only complete the JEE Advanced application form. The form can only be found on the official website, and the application process is conducted online.

  • First, students must register on the official website by entering their JEE Main 2025 roll number, security pin, and password.
  • In the second phase, students must fill out the JEE Advanced 2025 application form by entering their names, parents' names, contact information, address information, and other personal information in the designated columns. The application form must contain precise information because inaccurate information could result in the candidate's candidacy being withdrawn later.
  • When completing the application, students must also select the exam locations they wish to use.
  • Students must attach scanned copies of the required documents and the details.
  • After submitting all the necessary information, students must take several printouts of the completed application form for future use.

Documents Required 

Scannable documents must be uploaded by candidates using the online form. The necessary files are listed below:

  • Class X certificate if it or the birth certificate includes the date of birth.
  • Certificate of Class XII (or comparable examination)
  • Certificate of Class XII (or comparable examination)
  • A notice in the gazette indicates the name change if the candidate's name differs from the one on the Class X certificate.
  • Certificates of caste as required.

JEE Advanced 2025 Exam Pattern

JEE Advanced 2025 Result

The results of JEE Advanced 2025 are made public online. To view their scores and download the scorecard, candidates must log in. Additionally, the candidates' registered cellphone numbers will receive text notifications. Candidates will not receive individual rank cards.

A candidate's JEE Advanced 2025 Physics score will be the sum of their scores from Paper 1's Physics section and Paper 2's Physics section. The same formula will be used to determine grades in mathematics and chemistry. The total marks given to a candidate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics will be their overall score in JEE (Advanced) 2025. If a candidate receives the minimum percentage of marks in each topic and the total, according to the appropriate category, they are eligible for JEE (Advanced).

Ranklist: The JEE (Advanced) 2025 aggregate scores are used to create rank lists. Candidates will only be ranked if they appear for BOTH Paper 1 and Paper 2. There won't be a ranking waiting list.

JEE Advanced 2025 Counselling 

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will offer and distribute the seats among IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) using a standardized procedure that will be conducted online. Candidates may participate in the Joint Seat Allocation process if they receive a rank in JEE (Advanced) 2025. JoSAA is undertaken only online.
