Maharashtra common entrance exam (MAH CET-2025)

Maharashtra’s state-level exam for MBA/MMS admissions in colleges and universities.

This feature will be available soon

The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra State, administers the MAH CET for admission to MBA, MMS, PGDM, and PGDBM programs offered at the state's several universities. It has been conducted yearly in August over three slots since 2021; however, from 2023 onward, it will take place in March over two slots.

The exam is taken by about a lakh applicants, who fight for the few spots available for admission to reputable B-schools. The MAH CET syllabus covers the fundamental subjects of verbal ability, quantitative aptitude, and reasoning. Although the exam's sectional classification is comparable to those of other MBA entrance exams, different topics are given different weights.

MAH CET Syllabus 2025 Section-wise List of Topics

In MAH CET, questions from several sections have been appearing at random for the previous few years. Nevertheless, sectional performance does affect your overall score, so candidates should focus on all topics, particularly those that appear frequently in the exam. Thus, candidates will also get knowledge about the subjects that generate the majority of questions here.

MAH CET Syllabus for Verbal Ability

There are 50–55 questions in this part, one for each of the three spots. There are five to eight reading comprehension parts, each of which is either short or medium in length. The remaining questions assess your vocabulary and grammar knowledge. The subjects to study for Verbal Ability are as follows:

  1. Reading Comprehension
  2. Critical Reasoning
  3. Cloze Test
  4. Sentence Correction
  5. Synonyms and Antonyms
  6. Sentence Rearrangement
  7. Sentence Completion

MAH CET Syllabus for Quantitative Aptitude

About 50–60% of the questions are from Quant, while 15–% are from fields using arithmetic. Additional problems cover geometry, algebra, and contemporary mathematics. There are questions about data sufficiency and interpretation in some positions but not in others. Thus, you should concentrate on the following subjects for Quant:

  1. Number Systems
  2. Algebra
  3. Geometry
  4. Time-Distance-Speed
  5. Ratio
  6. Work-Time
  7. P & C
  8. Probability
  9. Profit-Loss
  10. Allegations-Mixtures
  11. Averages

MAH CET Syllabus for Logical Reasoning

The MAH CET contains 65–85 logical reasoning problems. Very few of the questions in this section come from verbal reasoning; the majority come from non-verbal reasoning. Additionally, over half of the LR questions come in sets, with the other questions being single. As you are getting ready for the LR portion, make sure to review the following topics:

  1. Data Arrangement
  2. Syllogisms
  3. Symbol Operations
  4. Series
  5. Blood relations
  6. Input / Output
  7. Coding-Decoding
  8. One liner logics
  9. Data Sufficiency

MAHCET Syllabus for Abstract Reasoning

This is one of the highest scoring sections, but it also has the least weight. Essentially, the goal is to assess your aptitude for identifying, deciphering, and applying patterns to problem-solving. Logical reasoning and abstract reasoning share many of the same concepts. The bulk of queries for AR come from:

  1. Analogies
  2. Odd-One Out
  3. Series
