MHT CET 2025 Eligibility Criteria: The Maharashtra State CET Cell has published the MHT CET eligibility criteria 2025 on the official website through the information brochure. The MHT CET eligibility criteria contains information about the minimum age limit, academic qualification, aggregate marks, and more. Candidates must meet all the eligibility requirements to be eligible for MHT CET exam 2025. Domicile Criteria Applicants must be a citizen of Maharashtra. Other state students are also eligible to apply for the MHT CET exam. 
Age Limit There are no restrictions on the age limit for candidates.
Attempt Limit Candidates can attempt for as many times as they wish to.
Qualification Criteria Applicants must’ve passed Class 10+2 or equivalent qualifying exams with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects from a recognised board.
Qualifying Exam Marks  Applicants must’ve passed Class 12 with at 45% MHT CET passing marks (40% for reserved category candidates).

MHT CET 2025 Detailed Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have completed Class 10+2 with a minimum percentage of marks as stipulated by the commission are eligible to apply for the MHT CET examination. Furthermore, candidates who have passed 10+2 with subjects such as Physics, Mathematics, and either Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, or a Technical Vocational subject are eligible for admission to B.E/B.Tech programs. For candidates who wish to apply for pharmacy courses, a qualification course in Chemistry and Physics and either Biology or Mathematics are sufficient. MHT CET 2025 Eligibility Criteria for Maharashtra State Candidature Criteria

The State Common Entrance Test Cell of Maharashtra has divided the eligibility criteria for Maharashtra State Candidates. Check out the table below for MHT CET 2025 Eligibility criteria for Maharashtra State Candidature Criteria. 

Candidature Type Eligibility Criteria
Type A (i) Passed SSC and HSC or Diploma in Engineering from a recognized institution in Maharashtra.  (ii) The candidate is either a Domicile of Maharashtra or born in Maharashtra.
Type B Candidates who do not fall under Type A but whose father or mother is domiciled in Maharashtra and possesses a Domicile Certificate.
Type C Candidates whose father or mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking, posted in Maharashtra before the last date of CAP application submission.
Type D Candidates whose father or mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Maharashtra Government Undertaking.
Type E (i) Passed SSC and/or HSC from a recognized institution located in the Maharashtra-Karnataka Border area or from Maharashtra.  (ii) The candidate's mother tongue must be Marathi.  (iii) For direct second-year admission, candidates must have passed a Diploma in Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy or D.Voc. from the Maharashtra-Karnataka Border area.

MHT CET 2025 Eligibility Criteria for Other Candidature Types

All India Candidature Candidates who do not reside in Maharashtra but wish to apply for Maharashtra's engineering institutions. They must be Indian nationals.
Minority Candidature Candidates from Maharashtra who belong to linguistic or religious minority communities recognized by the government.
Other State Candidature Candidates from other states with a Domicile Certificate, Residential Certificate, or Residence and Date of Birth Certificate issued by a competent authority outside Maharashtra.  Candidates from Jammu & Kashmir who are migrants are also considered under this category.

Candidates are recommended to follow the below outlined steps to apply for MHT CET 2025 reservation. The steps are as follows- 

  • Online Application Process: Candidates need to fill up the online application form available on the official MHT CET website during the scheduled registration period. The form asks the candidates to mention their reservation category.
  • Submission of Documents: Those candidates who want reservations have to submit the documents that prove their claims, such as a "Caste Certificate."
  • Payment of Application Fee: Application fee is to be paid by the candidates. All categories are charged with this fee. Normally, it is online payment.
  • Confirmation of Application: After completing the application form and the payment procedure, candidates are advised to log in on the official website and check the status of their application.
  • Engagement in the Centralized Admission Process (CAP): Candidates must engage in the CAP, which involves preference selection and seat allocation based on merit and reservation policies.

Is a domicile certificate required for MHT CET 2025?

A domicile certificate is required for candidates applying under Maharashtra State Candidature (Types A, B, C, D, and E). However, it is not mandatory for All India Candidature and NRI/OCI/PIO candidates.
