A.V. College of Art, Science and Commerce was established in 1968. The A.V. Education Society is one of the oldest and pioneering Educational Societies in the erstwhile Nizams State of Hyderabad.

Its offering plus two UG courses and multidimensional Institutional with PG courses. The PG courses were first offered in the year 1991. The students are encouraged to pursue research on their own or in collaboration with others.

Many of our students and faculty members have been presenting papers in National and international conferences and have published their work in research journals of repute.

To facilitate effective teaching and learning processes, the college has a fully-fledged career guidance, placement and counselling centre.

The college offers various undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs. UG options include BA with combinations like Economics-Public Administration-Political Science, B.Com (General and Computer Applications), BBA, and B.Sc with various science streams. The total UG student intake is 950.

UG fees vary, with BA (EPP) costing Rs.17,895+200 for non-scholarship holders and Rs.15,895+200 for scholarship holders. B.Com (CA) is Rs.22,605+200 for non-scholarship holders and Rs.12,605+200 for scholarship holders.

PG Programs

PG programs include MA in Telugu, M.Com, M.Sc in various fields, MCA, and MBA, with intake ranging from 36 to 65 students. Fees for PG courses also vary, with MA in Telugu at Rs.5,190+1,450 and MBA at Rs.55,000+6,400.

The skill oriented courses focus on advancement of skills that are relevant to the emerging economic environment. The goal of these courses is to create opportunities, space and scope for the development of the talent of the Indian youth and to enhance their personalities.

Career Oriented Courses

The college offers a range of career-oriented courses designed to enhance practical skills across various disciplines. In the English stream, students can improve their listening and speaking abilities, while the Sanskrit stream offers a course in Spoken Sanskrit. The Hindi stream includes a course in Hindi translation.

Admission

Seeking students can take admission to the courses offered by A.V. College of Arts and Commerce. The admission is based on merit. Students have to give the Entrance examination to become eligible for admission.

Admission Process

The admission process is transparent and as per the norms of the affiliating University. The cut off dates for eligible students are given through a notice board on the website. For PG admission are made through counselling held by the affiliating University are displayed on the TSCHE website.

PG courses

1. Admission are made through the centralised counselling by University/ TSCHE. The reservation policy.
2. Admission policy and document retention policy is as per norms given by the Osmania University.
3. 70% of the admission to MBA and MCA programs and 100% of admission to PG programs are based on merit through a common entrance test conducted by University/ Telangana State Council for Higher Education.
4. 30% seats of MBA and MCA programs and additional 20% seats of PG programmes are filled by college management as per the guidelines issued by University/ TSCHE.

Reservation Policy

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the college's courses are straightforward. For undergraduate programs such as B.Sc, BA, and B.Com, candidates must have completed their 10th and 12th grades. For postgraduate courses like M.Sc, MA, and M.Com, a graduation degree is required. To qualify for the MBA program, candidates need a graduation degree with at least 50% marks and must pass the TSICET exam.

Placement

The college has a separate Training and Placement cell, which is headed by a Placement officer and also supported by final year students members. The placement cell focuses on understanding the requirements of the corporate world and seeks to appropriately develop the abilities of students through career counselling.

It continuously interacts with the industry for student projects, internships, and placement openings.

The placement cell guides and helps the final year students in securing jobs commensurate with their knowledge and achievements, through on-campus and off campus interviews.

The placement department focuses on understanding the requirements of the corporate world and seeks to develop the abilities of our students and guide them in getting proper information about the market changes, industry expectations, nature of opportunities, salary structure, industry openings, on campus and off-campus interviews for internship, project and placements, career counselling and career development preparation. Government scholarships: students can apply for the Government scholarships as per the guidance directed by the Government from time to time. College is a facilitator to the students to avail the scholarship.
