Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College was founded in 2000 in Durgapur, West Bengal. The College is affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam University of Technology, Kolkata and is approved by AICTE and NBA.
The college offers UG and PG Engineering, Computer Application, and Management programs. UG courses include B.Tech in seven streams, BCA and BBA (Regular and Hospital Management), while four M.Tech, MCA, and MBA specialisations are offered as PG courses by Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College.

- Applicants with a BE/ B.Tech or MSc Degree in a relevant specialization are eligible for the M.Tech program.
- Selection of candidates for M.Tech is made through MAKAUT-PGCET or GATE merit, and admission is given through counselling.
- For MBA and MBA courses, candidates with a Graduation Degree in any discipline are eligible for admission.
- Admission to the MCA program is given based on the candidate’s score in WB-JECA, whereas for MBA admission, candidates are shortlisted as per their score obtained in JEMAT or MAT.
Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College B.Tech, BBA, and BCA Admission
UG courses the College offers include B.Tech with 7 specializations, BCA and BBA—the two branches of the B.Tech course viz. Information Technology and Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering have an intake of 60 seats, while the other specializations have 120 seats. Similarly, BBA and BCA have ta total of 120 seats, whereas BBA Hospital Management has an intake of 60 students.
Applicants who have passed 10+2/ HSC or its equivalent qualifying examination conducted by any recognized Board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects are eligible to get admission to the B.Tech program. For admission to BBA and BCA, applicants must have passed 10+2 in the general or vocational stream with English as a compulsory language.
The selection of the students for admission to the BBA and BCA programs is based on their merit in the qualifying examination, and the shortlisted candidates are called to attend the Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds. Admission to the B.Tech course is given based on the candidate’s merit in WBJEE or JEE Main.

Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College MBA, MCA, M.Tech Admission
Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College offers M.Tech, MCA and MBA programs. M.Tech has 4 specializations with 18 seats, and MCA and MBA have 60 seats in each. Applicants who have completed BE/ B.Tech in a relevant discipline are eligible for M.Tech admission. At the same time, the minimum eligibility criteria for MCA is a Bachelor’s Degree with not less than 50% marks in Mathematics in 10+2/ HSC. Students with a Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any relevant discipline are eligible for MBA admission.
Admission to the M.Tech course is given based on the candidate’s GATE score or merit of MAKAUT-PGCET. Selection of candidates for the MCA program is done based on their marks obtained in JECA conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board, whereas for the MBA program, applicants with valid MAT or JEMAT scores are called for GD and PI rounds conducted by the college and those who qualify these are admitted to the course.
