Gossner College was founded in 1971 and situated in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Full-time undergraduate and graduate courses are available to the students. As word spread, the concept started to gain traction. A few Ranchi Chotanagpuri professors expressed interest in and support for this concept. We then spoke with the responsible G.E.L. church members and the authorities. Formal conversations and meetings with the Gossner Church's members and leaders continued. On November 14, 1971, the ad hoc G.B. voted to open the college. The college was opened by Sri. Bhola Paswan Shastri, the Bihar chief minister at the time, who gave a motivational speech calling for progress in creating a perfect institution for the benefit of the poorer segments of society. We were not intimidated by the modest amount of capital because we felt that, if we proceeded with bravery and confidence, the members of Gossner Church and our friends would be there to support and encourage us.

As of August 8, 1972, the College was associated with Ranchi University. The college's life and work were further bolstered by this. The students' strength continued to grow after that. The first group took the Ranchi University Intermediate Exam, and we received a P.C. score of over 57. The Governing Body was reorganized in accordance with the University's laws. The remaining eight members represented different organizations and interests within the G.E.L.
