One of India's top engineering institutions of learning, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) is well-known for its academic offerings. IIT Bombay provides a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses in engineering, science, and design and is routinely ranked among the best technological colleges in the world. The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, also known as IITB, was the second IIT in all of India to be founded with outside funding when it was founded in Powai, Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay), in 1958. Placements for 2022-2023 show that the highest annual compensation package granted by IIT Bombay was Rs 1.68 crore, with an average wage package of Rs 21.82 lakhs.
According to Indian Institute of Technology Bombay placement records, 88% of B.Tech students and 90% of BS students were placed in 2023-2024. All on-campus placement activities are overseen by a specialized training and placement division of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay). More than 350 organizations are anticipated to take part in the placement season, which runs through December. Approximately forty firms conducted interviews in two slots during the IIT Bombay placements. Compared to the IIT Bombay placement drives of the previous year, there was an 80% increase in regular recruiters on the first day.
Approximately 644 Under graduate (4-year) students at IIT Bombay received an average pay of Rs 19.63 lakhs, 187 UG (5-year) students received an average salary of Rs 18.50 lakhs, and 641 PG students received an average salary of Rs 15.00 lakhs, as per the NIRF 2024 data.
