The Sport scholarship provide by North-Eastern Hill University is that the Department of Sports organizes many sporting events for the University and its affiliated colleges. In sports including cricket, football, martial arts, athletics, table tennis, badminton, chess, basketball, and volleyball for men and women, the department hosts competitions for students at the Shillong and Tura campuses. For the students, coaching camps are also planned. The department features football, basketball, and cricket coaches. There is a well-equipped gym in the department for both men and women.

The University Health Center offers preventive, therapeutic, and promotional health services as well as basic medical facilities to university students. Both during regular business hours and after hours, medical officials are on call for consultations. Patients receive free medication based on a prescription from the university medical officer. In the dressing room, the center offers sufficient space for dressings, injections, and minor surgical operations. Every member of NEHU has their routine immunizations. All sporting events and competitions offer first aid services. In an emergency, the health center offers an ambulance service to take patients from their homes to the health center or, if necessary, a hospital. The health center has begun using biochemical testing for the study of blood and urine. The health center has a list of willing blood donors from the NEHU community and makes arrangements for blood donors in an emergency for both NEHU members and those outside of it.

Both the Shillong Campus and the Tura Campus of NEHU have a small number of hostels that can accommodate a small number of male and female students. After completing the admissions procedure, students who are looking for hostel accommodations on the Shillong Campus should apply to the Dean, Students’ Welfare (DSW), North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong, via their department heads. Through the Head of the Department, students can apply for dormitory accommodations at the Tura Campus to the Pro-ViceChancellor, NEHU, Tura. There is no assurance or entitlement to hostel accommodations that comes with being accepted into a university program. Furthermore, the University might not be able to accommodate the hostel for the academic year 2024–2025 because of the extensive renovations being done in some of the dormitories.

Graduates of the MBA program at North-Eastern Hill University Shillong can find employment in a number of sectors, such as banking, retail, fast-moving consumer goods, and autos. Among the professions available to MBA graduates are positions in finance, human resources, IT & systems, sales and marketing, and business analytics. The annual salary of an MBA graduate can range from INR 3 to 15 Lacs, depending on their line of work. For the Academic Session 2024–2025, the State Government hereby clarifies that CUET scores will not be necessary for admission to Meghalayan colleges affiliated with North-Eastern Hill University. Instead, admissions will be granted based on the student's performance in the Board exam, as has been done in prior years..

Candidates having a minimum of 50% in aggregate or equivalent (45% for SC/ST candidates) from a recognized university or institution who have completed a three-year Bachelor's Degree Course (10+2+3) or its equivalent in any discipline would often be given consideration for admission.
