For all UG and PG programs, SLC admissions in 2024 will be determined by the results of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), administered by the National Test Agency (NTA).

Candidates must appear for CUET UG for all UG programs, while those who want to be admitted to PG programs must appear for CUET PG.

After passing the CUET UG exam, candidates must register on the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) in order to be considered for UG admissions. The institute's merit list will be used for PG admissions, or admissions would be made based on both entrance and merit. The registration process for all UG and PG programs will begin on Delhi University's admission portal, admission.uod.ac.in, following the release of the CUET results. 50% of the total intake for PG admission will go to students with a bachelor's degree from Delhi University based on their standing in the qualifying test, with the remaining 50% of spots being filled based on the candidate's score in the CUET PG exam.

Additionally, 50% of the seats at Shyam Lal College (SLC) are set aside for students who fall under the categories of SC, ST, OBC, EWS, or PwD.

Undergraduate programs in both General and Honors are available at Shyam Lal College for three years. In different specializations, the following courses are available: B.Com (Hons.), B.Com, BA, BA (Hons.), and B.Sc (Hons.). • Section 1 Languages: this further contains two sections, ‘A’ and ‘B’. • Section 3 General Test: General test for any UG programme offered by the university where the general test is being used for admission. Candidates must refer to the program specific eligibility criteria for selecting general tests.

SLC provides its students only one postgraduate program. The M.A. program admits students either on the basis of merit or admission exam results.

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required of candidates.
• To be admitted to SLC on the basis of merit, candidates must have a bachelor's degree with a minimum score of 65%.
• To get admitted to the college based on entrance exams, candidates must receive a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum score of 45%.

• Merit-based admissions are made based on valid CUET PG scores.
• According to DU regulations, students who have graduated from any DU-affiliated college and are looking for postgraduate admission in the relevant discipline may choose to be admitted on the basis of merit.
• Candidates who have earned a bachelor's degree in a different subject or from a different university must pass the CUET PG.

Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) Admission Process 2024

The Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) has been implemented by Delhi University to facilitate admission to undergraduate courses for all of its affiliated colleges. The following describes the full procedure:

Phase 1: CSAS Application Form

• Aspirants are required to fill the CSAS application form on the centralized admission portal by paying a one-time non-refundable application fee.
• ECA and sports quota candidates will have to pay an additional fee.

Phase 2: Selection of Courses and College Preferences

• Second phase will start after the results of the CUET examination are declared.
• After the CUET Result declaration, eligible candidates will have to select the courses and fill the preference of desired colleges on the centralised CSAS portal.

Phase 3: Seat Allocation and Final Admission

• Merit list will be declared on the basis of CUET scores.
• Multiple rounds of seat allotment will be conducted.
• Candidates will have to check if they have been allotted a seat on the CSAS dashboard. If allotted, candidates must accept their seat on or before the given date for that particular round.
• Seat allocation will be based on multiple factors such as - combination of college and program chosen, position of the candidate on the merit list, category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR) of the candidate, and availability of seats.
• Upon acceptance of seat, the university will check eligibility, verify documents, and confirm admission after receiving the payment of fee.
