JIPMER PG has been changed with the INI CET entrance examination, and candidates will get admission into MD/ MS/ MDS/ Integrated 6-year M.Ch courses with the same. Candidates will have to meet the eligibility criteria before proceeding to fill out the application form. AIIMS, New Delhi, has set forth the eligibility requirements for . The eligibility requirements for will not change from the year before. There is no minimum or maximum age limit established by the Institute. By January 31, 2025, at the latest, students must have finished the required rotating internship and practical training. All Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), foreigners, and Indians. Students must have earned an MBBS or BDS degree in order to be admitted to JIPMER, Puducherry and Karaikal’s MD/MS programs. The OBC/EWS categories have a 55% aggregate qualifying mark, while the restricted groups have a 5% relaxation.

JIPMER PG 2025 MD Course Eligibility Criteria

Candidates for admission into several MD courses will be required to appear for the INI CET examination. The eligibility criteria for INI CET examination, in all terms, will be as follows:

Nationality Criteria

Indian and international citizens are both eligible to take the exam. In addition, holders of PCO or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cards are permitted to take the test.

Age Limit

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research has not mandated any minimum or maximum age limit.

Educational Qualifications

Candidates for admission into MD/ MS courses, students must have completed an MBBS or a BDS degree from an accredited institution. The OBC/ EWS categories must have obtained 55% aggregate marks and a 50% aggregate mark is required for those in SC/ ST categories.

Internship Criteria

All the students must have completed the 12 months of mandatory rotating practical training or the internship period on January 31, 2025 or before. Students completing their training period/ internship after the aforementioned date will not be eligible to sit for exam.

Foreign Nationals Eligibility Criteria

For admission, foreign nationals must hold either a BDS or the same MBBS degree. Similar to Indian nationals, candidates must finish the internship or the required 12-month rotating practical training by January 31, 2025, at the latest. The qualifying score, which is set at 55%, is the same for all applicant categories. Students must also present the appropriate No Objection Certificate (NOC), which has been given by the Indian government's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Those candidates who wish to appear in the JIPMER MBBS 2025 should check their eligibility in the below mentioned pointers.

  1. Nationality: The applicant should be an Indian National/ Overseas Citizens of India.
  2. Age: He/She has completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission.
  3. Qualification: The applicants should have passed the qualifying examinations in the manner mentioned below:
Eligibility
Education The higher/ Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 higher/ senior secondary examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study comprising Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology or any other elective with english at a level not less than the core course for english as prescribed by the National Council for Educational Research and Training after introduction of the 10+2+3 educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on education.
Subject marks The applicant must have passed in the subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology at the qualifying examination.
Required marks for SC/ST and OBC For candidates belonging to the scheduled castes/ scheduled tribe or other backward classes/ OPH the minimum marks obtained in the Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Biotechnology taken together in the qualifying examination is 40%
Required marks for General Category For OPH candidates in the general category the minimum marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Biotechnology taken together in the qualifying examination is 45%.

The candidates who have passed the qualifying examination, will have to submit an eligibility certificate before admission is finalised. Obtaining an eligibility certificate from Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi is essential for OCI/NRI for admission to JIPMER MBBS course.
