AFCAT 2025 Merit List

The AFCAT merit list is created based on the candidate's performance in both the online test and the AFSB interview. The IAF sets distinct minimum qualifying marks for the online test and the AFSB interview. Candidates are ranked in order of merit based on the total marks obtained in both stages of the exam. Candidates are assigned to Permanent Commission/Short Service Commission positions in Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) and Flying Branches based on the number of openings, their performance in the selection process, and their preferences.

What happens once the AFCAT 2025 results are declared?

For AFCAT, the IAF creates a list of candidates who get the minimum qualifying marks in the examination. Qualified candidates are invited to appear before one of the Air Force Selection Boards (AFSB) for additional rounds. The AFSB centres are located in Dehradun (1 AFSB), Mysuru (2 AFSB), Gandhinagar (3 AFSB), and Varanasi (4 AFSB). Only those who apply for the Flying Branch can choose between Dehradun, Mysore, and Varanasi. Qualified candidates must select an AFSB date and venue before downloading the AFSB Interview Call Letter.

According to the AFCAT selection process, the AFSB Interview is done in three stages. The first level includes the Officer Intelligence Rating Test, as well as the Picture Perception and Discussion Tests. The second level involves psychological exams. The third level is the Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS), which is solely used for the Flying branch.
