Burdwan University is a State Government University. It was established in 1960 located in Bardhaman, West Bengal. BU has a total of 9 departments and 166 affiliated colleges. The university receives funding and donations from the West Bengal Government and several organizations. It, therefore, grants numerous scholarships to financially needy and meritorious students. 1. Sitaram Jindal Scholarship Scholarship amounts of INR 6200, INR 4200, and INR 1800 are awarded to eligible candidates.
  • The candidate must've secured at least 60% - 65% in the last exam.
  • The candidates' family's annual income should be INR 2.00 LPA or less.
2. Special Fellowship (SC/ST and PH students) Eligible candidates will be given INR 12,000 / month for one to two semesters.
  • Candidates must belong to the minority category such as SC / ST / Physically Challenged (PH).
  • Candidates must be seeking interest in pursuing Teaching / Research as a career.
  • Candidates who have completed Ph.D / M.Phil or are about to complete are eligible.
3. Aikyashree Minority Scholarship A Scholarship amount of INR 5,200 is given to the eligible candidate.
  • The Candidate must've secured at least 50% marks in the last final exam.
  • The annual income of the candidates' family must be INR 2 LPA or less.
4. Merit Cum Means Scholarships Not mentioned
  • Candidates with good academic performance.
  • The annual income of the family should be INR 2.50 LPA or less.
  • The meritorious candidate must be pursuing graduation in a BA / MA program in a recognised university.
5. Indira Gandhi Single Girl Child Scholarship The girl child will be receiving fee compensation for her studies at every level from the Government of India. The chosen girl child will be given INR 3000 / month for two years.
  • The student should be the only girl child in her family with no brother sibling.
  • She should be enrolled in any non-professional PG courses in any University or College.
  • Or the girl child should be pursuing a regular and full time PG course in any university.
  • This scholarship is eligible for only 1st year PG students.
