Nationality

Qualification

    2. Reserved Categories: For SC/ST candidates, the minimum required aggregate is 40%. This clause seeks to uphold academic competency standards while fostering inclusion and giving individuals from varied backgrounds chances.

Age Limit

    1. Minimum Age: On December 31 of the year of admission, applicants must be at least 17 years old. This criterion guarantees that applicants have developed to a level of maturity and cognitive ability suitable for the rigorous medical curriculum.

Reservation Policy for admission to MBBS and BDS course

Indian nationals belonging to certain categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them in accordance with the rules and regulations prescribed by the government of India. The detailed information of the categories and the reservations of seats are listed below:

  • General categories- General category belonging to economically weaker sections- 10% of seats in every course.
  • Other Backward Classes- OBC belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) 27% of seats in every course.
  • Scheduled Caste- 15% of seats in every course.
  • Schedules Tribe- 7.5% of seats in every course.
  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD)- 5% seats in each of GEN, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC and SC categories.

Appearing candidates should be required to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the application form. Below are mentioned eligibility criteria for the candidates.

A, For Indian Nationals

  1. A candidate must possess an MBBS degree for MD/MS/DM-6 years/ MCH-6 years and BDS degree for MDS courses.
  2. Must have completed the required period of 12 months compulsory rotating internship/ practical training on.
  3. Minimum Marks in MBBS/ BDS or equivalent examinations

The Indian National, who has obtained eligibility degree in India, must have obtained a minimum of following marks:

  • for candidates belonging to the SC/ST categories 50% marks in aggregate.
  • For all other categories including OBC/EWS category 55% marks in aggregate.
  • For persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD) candidates the minimum aggregate as provided in SC/ST and OBC will be applicable for the category to which the candidate belongs shall apply.

B, For Foreign Nationals

  1. A candidate must possess an MBBS degree for MD/MS/DM-6 years/ MCH-6 years and BDS degree for MDS courses.
  2. Must have completed the required period of 12 months compulsory rotating internship/ practical training on.
  3. Candidates are required to obtain a certificate of grading system from applicable University/ Institution to determine the value of grading in percentage.
  4. The eligibility of applicants with respect to the minimum marks in aggregate in all the MBBS/BDS professional examinations will be 55% aggregate or equivalent.

C, For Overseas Citizens of India (OCI)/ PIO

Eligibility of OCI/ PIO candidates will be based on the decision of the Hon’ble supreme court of India in writ petition.

  1. Candidates born before 04.03.2021 and who have secured the OCI card before 04.03.2021 shall be considered INDIAN NATIONALS and will be eligible ONLY for open category (unreserved) seats for INDIAN NATIONALS. They will not be eligible for consideration for seats for Foreign Nationals.
  2. OCI/PIO card holders who are not to be considered as Indian Nationals based on the decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in Writ Petition (Civil) 891 / 2021 dated February 03, 2023 shall be considered as FOREIGN NATIONALS. They will not be eligible for consideration for seats for Indian Nationals.
