CBSE Class 12 Result: Release Date, How to Check, Grading System

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to release the CBSE class 12 result 2025 in May 2025. The CBSE class 12 result will be available on the official website at results.cbse.nic.in. After the result is released, students can check their respective results using their school number, roll number, and admit card number as mentioned on the admit card. They can also check the result via DigiLocker and UMANG mobile app. CBSE class 12 exams 2025 will be held between February 15 and April 4, 2025. In the previous year, CBSE released the CBSE 12th board exam results on May 13, 2024, for the exam which was held between Feb 15 and April 2, 2024.

The CBSE class 12 results will be released together for all streams- Science, Arts, and Commerce. The CBSE class 12 result 2025 contains the student's name, date of birth, roll number, subject scores, grades, total score, etc. The CBSE results 2025 released online on the official website are provisional. Students will be required to obtain the original class 12 mark sheet from their school. How to Check CBSE Class 12 Result 2025?

CBSE class 12 result 2025 will be released online. All the students who will write the examination can check their exam results by following the steps listed below:

• Visit one of the following websites – results.cbse.nic.in, www.cbse.gov.in.
• The CBSE class 12 result 2025 login page will appear.
• Then, enter the CBSE roll number and school number.
• Click on the submit option.
• The result will appear on the screen.

Grading System for the CBSE Class 12 Result 2025

A certain grade and points are allotted to students for their marks in the class 12 board exam. The grade and points will be mentioned in the mark sheet. The table below shows the grading system for CBSE class 12 exam results.

Passing Criteria for the CBSE Class 12 Result

Students will be considered to pass the CBSE class 12 board exams if they meet the passing criteria given below:

• The student should obtain a grade higher than ‘E’, which is at least 33% in all the five subjects of the board exam in the main or the compartmental exams.
• Students should obtain 33% marks in the theory exam and 33% marks in the practical exam. Other than that, the student should have obtained at least 33% marks in total in the examination.
• CBSE will give students a passing certificate only if they obtain an 'E' grade in all subjects of the internal assessment.

CBSE 12th Result 2025 Verification Process

Students who are not pleased with the marks secured in the CBSE 12th exam can apply for the verification process of class 12 marks. The students need to fill out the application form for the verification process of the marks on the official website of CBSE. The board re-checks the student's answer sheet for identifying errors, missing out on marks, or unchecked answers. After the re-checking is done, the board will share the CBSE class 12t result 2025 with the students. They can ask for a photocopy of the re-checked result.

CBSE supplementary examination is expected to be held from July 15, 2025. The verification process of the class 12 marks is likely to be done in the final week of May 2025. Students need to pay INR 500 per subject to apply for mark verification as well as to receive photocopies of the re-checked mark sheets. The process for the re-evaluation of the answer sheets will begin on June 6. The re-evaluation fee for each subject is INR 100.
