Candidates applying for CLAT 2025 must meet specific eligibility requirements. As per the CLAT 2025 eligibility criteria, candidates must have completed or be appearing for their 10+2 for UG programs or LL.B. degree for PG programs from a recognized institution. The minimum marks required vary based on category: 45% for General/OBC/NRI candidates and 40% for SC/ST/PwD candidates in UG programs, while for PG programs, it is 50% for General/OBC/NRI and 45% for SC/ST/PwD candidates. There is no upper age limit for CLAT 2025, meaning candidates of any age can apply.
CLAT 2025 Nationality
- Indian Nationals: Candidates must be Indian citizens.
- Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs): These candidates are also eligible to apply.
- Foreign Nationals: Foreign nationals are not required to appear for the CLAT examination. They should directly contact the respective NLUs for admission procedures.
CLAT 2025 Age Limit
- For Undergraduate Programs: There is no upper age limit for candidates appearing for the CLAT UG 2025 examination.

CLAT 2025 Educational Qualification for Undergraduate Programs (5-year Integrated LLB/ 3-year LLB)
General/OBC/NRI Candidates: Must have secured a minimum of 45% marks in their Higher Secondary School/Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent examination.
SC/ST/PwD Candidates: Must have secured a minimum of 40% marks in their Higher Secondary School/Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent examination.
Candidates Appearing in 2025: Candidates who are appearing for their qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) in March/April 2025 are eligible to apply. However, they must produce evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission.
CLAT 2025 Educational Qualification for Postgraduate Programs (1-year LLM)
General/OBC/NRI Candidates: Must have completed an LLB degree or its equivalent with at least 50% marks.
SC/ST/PwD Candidates: Must have completed an LLB degree or its equivalent with at least 45% marks.
Candidates Appearing in 2025: Candidates who are appearing for their qualifying examination (LLB degree or its equivalent) in April/May 2025 are eligible to apply. They must provide evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission.
CLAT UG 2025 Tie-Breaking Criteria
If multiple candidates get the same score in the CLAT UG 2025 exam, the following rules will be used one after another to break the tie.
- Higher Marks in Legal Aptitude Section: Preference will be given to the candidate with superior marks in the Legal Aptitude section of the CLAT 2025 exam.
- Age Consideration: If the tie persists, the elder candidate will be favoured.
- Computerized Draw of Lots: Should the tie remain unresolved, a computerized draw of lots will be conducted to determine the rank.
CLAT PG 2025 Tie-Breaking Criteria
In cases where multiple candidates achieve the same score in the CLAT PG 2025 examination, the following criteria will be applied in order:
- Age Consideration: The elder candidate will be given preference.
- Computerized Draw of Lots: If the tie persists, a computerized draw of lots will be utilized to finalize the rank.
