Common University Entrance Test (CUET-2025)

National exam for UG, PG, and research admissions in central universities across India.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to make no changes to CUET 2025 eligibility criteria. Students who meet the eligibility criteria in all aspects can only fill out CUET 2025 application form. NTA has not prescribed any age limit to appear in the examination. Students, however, must check the course and university-specified age criteria if any during admission. Students having an AICTE or a state board-accredited 3-year Diploma degree are also eligible to appear for the examination. Candidates who have appeared in the higher secondary vocational exam certificate can appear in CUET 2025 examination. The eligibility criteria based on different aspects are detailed here.

CUET 2025 Nationality

Students from both India and outside India are welcome to appear in the CUET 2025 examination. The previous year, the exam was conducted in over 354 Indian cities and 26 outside Indian cities.

CUET 2025 Age Limit

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has not mandated any age limit to appear in CUET 2025 examination. Candidates need to check the age limit set by the universities they are aspiring to take admission into.

CUET 2025 Academic Qualifications

Candidates must have cleared class 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Board can sit for CUET 2025 examination. Students whose final Board results are awaited are also eligible to appear for the test. All the compartments or supplementary statuses should be cleared by the aspirants within the due time to avoid any hassles.

CUET 2025 List of Qualifying Examinations

Students having any of the following qualifying examination degrees are eligible to appear in CUET UG 2025 examination:

  1. Passed class 10+2 final examination or equivalent from any of the recognized boards, viz., CBSE, ICSE, ISC, NIOS, and any State Boards.
  2. Cleared Intermediate or two-year pre-University certification exam from a recognized Board
  3. Cleared the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy’s final examination or two-year curriculum.
  4. Passed NIOS’s senior secondary examination with a minimum of five subjects.
  5. Passed from any institutions/ boards/ University exam in India or abroad accredited by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and 10+2 system.
  6. Have the Higher Secondary Certificate of Vocational Studies.
  7. Having a Technical degree education of at least 3 years and AICTE or a State board-accredited.
  8. Completed the General Certificate Education (GCE) at an Advanced (A) level, from London or Cambridge or Sri Lanka.
  9. Appeared in the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva’s high school certificate examination.

CUET 2025 Reservation Criteria

Candidates from different categories will know the number of seats reserved once NTA releases the information brochure PDF in February 2025. Students can check the below-mentioned seat reservations in percentage mandated the previous year for admission through CUET UG scores:

ST 7.5%

Note: For PwD candidates, there will be a benchmark disability of 40%.
