Candidates must meet various eligibility standards, including the minimum age, number of attempts, and required qualifications, to be considered for enrollment in UCEED 2025's B.Des program. The candidate may be disqualified if they don't meet these conditions at any stage of the admissions process. Candidates should carefully study these qualifying requirements before applying.

The application process for UCEED 2025, managed by IIT Bombay, has already closed as of November 18, 2024. The exam will be held on January 19, 2025. The UCEED 2025 results will determine admission to the B.Des program at participating institutes. Therefore, candidates should ensure they meet the eligibility requirements before completing the application.

UCEED 2025 Eligibility Criteria Highlights 

Here are the detailed eligibility criteria for UCEED 2025:

Number of Attempts Maximum of two attempts in consecutive years.
Qualifying Examination Must have passed all subjects in the 10+2 or equivalent exam in 2023 or should appear for the first time in 2025. Candidates who appeared for the exam in 2023 or earlier are not eligible.
Eligibility for B.Des Program Admission Separate from UCEED 2025 eligibility.

UCEED 2025 Qualification for B.Des Admission Must have qualified for UCEED 2025 and obtained a merit rank.

Institute-Specific Eligibility Criteria for B.Des Admission

In addition to the general eligibility criteria, each participating institute has its own requirements:

  1. Applicants from the Science Stream, which includes math, chemistry, and physics These candidates are eligible to apply to all five participating institutes.
  2. Candidates from Other Streams Candidates who have studied Science without Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics and those from the Commerce and Arts & Humanities streams can apply to IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, and IIT Hyderabad.
  3. Admission to IIITDM Jabalpur To apply for B.Des at IIITDM Jabalpur, candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in Class 12. Students from Arts or Humanities streams are not eligible to apply to IIITDM Jabalpur.

List of Qualifying Examinations for UCEED 2025

Candidates must meet the qualifying exam criteria as mentioned below. The list of accepted qualifying exams is as follows:

  1. A Central or State Board approved by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) administers the 10+2 system's final exam.
  2. The two-year Pre-University examination or equivalent is conducted by a recognized Board or University per the AIU.
  3. The final exam of the two-year course from the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
  4. The National Institute of Open Schooling conducts the Senior Secondary School Examination with at least five subjects.
  5. AIU recognises any examination from a Public School, Board, or University in India or abroad equivalent to the 10+2 system.
  6. Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) vocational examination.
  7. A diploma of at least three years, recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or a State Board of Technical Education.
  8. General Certificate of Education (GCE) examination (London, Cambridge, or Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
  9. High School Certificate Examination from Cambridge University or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.
  10. For candidates who have completed their Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India or from a non-listed board, a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities verifying the equivalency of the examination is required.
  11. Candidates must have passed at least one previous public test (such as the Board or Pre-University) if the Class 12 exam is not open to the public.

FAQs

What is UCEED Part A qualifying cut-off?

The UCEED 2025 question paper will have two parts - Part A and Part B. The Part B answer booklet will be evaluated only if the candidate qualifies for Part A or meets the cut-off. The admission committee will determine the qualifying cut-off for Part A, which will be used to shortlist candidates for Part A. All candidates who qualify for Part A will be allocated a merit rank and total score. Further, candidates allocated to merit ranks can participate in the counselling process. Note that the Part A cut-off is not the admission cut-off.
