Asansol Engineering College, created in 1998, is a self-financed institution in Asansol, West Bengal. With a strong focus on technical education, the institution provides a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including B.Tech in seven engineering disciplines, MCA, and M.Tech in Electrical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering. The college is approved by AICTE, affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), and recognized by UGC.
High-standard college facilities for more than 3,000 students are spread over 17 acres of space. Its infrastructure has four multi-storey buildings, separate hostels for boys and girls, and more than 150 classrooms and laboratories. AEC Asansol offers many courses like B.Tech, BCA, BBA, MCA, and M.Tech in subjects such as Information Technology, Computer Applications, and Business Administration. The B.Tech courses require students to take an entrance exam called WBJEE or JEE Mains. JEE updates are available online. PGET is the entrance exam for M.Tech, and students have to pass it. For BBA/BCA, students should contact the College Admission Cell or the City Office. The students are required to take a written test JECA conducted by WBJEE to enroll in the course.

Asansol Engineering College provides comfortable hostels for its students. There are distinct hostels for the males and females. The Vivekananda Hall and Sarojini Hall (New Building) are for 1st-year students, while the A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Hall and Sarojini Hall (Old Building) are for 4th-year boys and other girls respectively.
