JNU Fellowships

Sungum Sudhar Fellowship Two PhD students with confirmed status and 6.5 grade in Masters (MA & MPhil). 2 students are rewarded for three years.
SYLFF Fellowship PhD students with an approved topic and at least 2 years remaining. Each school/centre may recommend PhD students. Fellowship for 3 years, INR 22,000 per month. Renewed yearly based on progress.
Fox International Fellowship One or two students of M.Phil./Ph.D. programme in Economics, Finance, Political Science, International Relations, Law, and Contemporary History. Annually awarded. Application required.
UGC-CSIR Junior Research Fellowship Students qualifying in national level test conducted by UGC/CSIR or similar tests. Rewards are granted as per the norms of the relevant organization.
UGC-Scholarships and Fellowship Available for meritorious students, women, category students, minority students, foreign nationals, single girl child, rank holders at UG, PG, Ph.D levels. Rewards and benefits as per organization norms.
State Government Fellowship Awarded to 1 or 2 students who should have devoted full-time research and study at the University. Fellowship tenable for 1 year, renewable up to 4 years.
Okita Memorial Fellowship Meritorious Indian students in MPhil/Ph.D. and MA 2nd year programme in Japan or India-Japan Relations. This fellowship consists of 2 Fellowships of INR 5000 per month, INR 10,000 annual contingency.
G. Parthasarathi Endowment Fellowship A total number of 4 meritorious students from economically weaker sections, particularly SC/ST/BC, and Physically Challenged. INR 1000 per month for 1 year, renewable.
Australian High Commission Fellowship Ph.D. student working on a subject concerning Australian Study at Centre of CSCSEA&WPS/SIS. INR 3500 per month, INR 6000 annual contingency.

Established in 1969, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has been accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ Grade. JNU ranks 2nd according to the NIRF 2023 report. JNU offers affordable yet high quality education to its students. It attracts the top talented minds of India as well as from the world. The university offers several scholarships and fellowship programs to support the meritorious and financially weak students. The scholarships available are given on the basis of one-time reward or monthly monetary compensation. These scholarships can also be renewed every year which solely depends on candidates academic performance. All of the JNU Scholarships are awarded to students from minority background, academically talented, single girl child, and category-wise students. Eligible students are encouraged to apply for the scholarships by filling the scholarship application form followed by submitting the required documents.
