The General Test

The general test includes business and law. It measures candidates' verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical writing skills.

GRE analytical writing

The syllabus for GRE analytical writing includes two separately timed analytical writing tasks of thirty minutes each

  1. Analyse an issue: this requires you to present an option on the issue of general interest with specific instructions on how to respond to that issue.
  2. Analyse an argument: this requires you to evaluate a given argument according to specific instructions.
