The IIT JAM 2025 Application window for the academic year 2025-2026 has been closed. The deadline for candidates to rectify incorrect facts in their IIT JAM applications was November 18, 2024. Last year around 6 lakh aspirants appeared in the IIT JAM exam and a similar number of candidates is expected to participate in the IIT JAM 2025 application process.

Candidates meeting the IIT JAM 2025 eligibility criteria could fill out the application form within the deadline. Eligibility criteria for the IIT JAM exam are different across courses.

The IIT Joint Admission Test for Masters (IIT JAM) is a national-level exam used to admit students to postgraduate programs at IITs and IISc, including MSc and integrated PhD courses. Candidates who want to take the exam must complete the application process.

IIT JAM 2025 Application Modes

The IIT JAM 2025 application process is carried out online through the official portal. Offline applications are not accepted. To complete the application procedure, candidates should use the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS).

IIT JAM 2025 Application Process (Detailed Process) 

The IIT JAM 2025 application process involves a series of steps that candidates must follow carefully to ensure successful submission. 1. Registration on JOAPS (JAM Online Application Processing System)

Candidates interested in applying for IIT JAM 2025 must first register on the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) portal, which can be accessed at https://jam2025.iitd.ac.in. Registration begins on September 3, 2024, and continues until October 11, 2024. During registration, candidates must provide personal details such as their name, valid email address, and active mobile number, and create a password.

Once registration is successful, an Enrolment ID and an OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to the candidate’s email address and mobile number. The Enrolment ID is important for completing the application form, and the password must be kept secure and confidential to avoid unauthorized access to the account.

2. Filling Out the Application Form

Once registered, candidates need to log in to JOAPS using their Enrolment ID or email address & the password they set during registration. They can then proceed to fill out the application form for IIT JAM 2025. The application form will ask for a range of details, including:

• Personal Information: Name (exactly as per the qualifying degree), date of birth, mobile number, and parent’s/guardian’s details.
• Contact Details: Address for communication, including the PIN code.
• Eligibility Information: Details of the candidate’s qualifying degree, the name and address of the College/Institute/University, etc.
• Choice of JAM Paper(s): Candidates can choose their preferred test papers based on the programs they want to apply for.
• Choice of Examination Cities: Candidates must select three cities in order of preference for the examination. The cities must belong to the same zone based on the first city selected.

3. Document Uploading

Candidates must upload the following documents to complete their IIT JAM 2025 application:

• Photograph: A recent passport-sized color photograph with a white or light-colored background. The file should be in JPEG/ JPG format, with a size between 20 KB and 200 KB.
• Signature: A scanned image of the candidate’s signature in black or dark blue ink. The size should be between 10 KB and 150 KB, and the signature should not exceed the dimensions of 2 cm x 7 cm.
• Category Certificate: Candidates belonging to OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST, or PwD categories must upload the respective certificate issued by authorized officials.
• Disability Certificate (if applicable): Candidates with physical disabilities must upload the relevant certificate, either a Physical Disability Certificate or a Unique Disability Identification (UDID) certificate.
• 10th Standard Mark Sheet: A scanned copy of the 10th-grade mark sheet.
• Photo Identity Proof: One of the following: Aadhaar ID, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport, or Voter ID. This ID must be carried to the examination center.

4. Application Fee Payment

After completing the form and uploading the necessary documents, candidates are required to pay the application fee for IIT JAM 2025. The fee can be paid online via net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI. The application fee amount will be automatically determined based on the candidate’s category (General, OBC, SC/ ST, PwD) and the number of test papers chosen.

• Candidates must review their application form by clicking the "Save and View" button before proceeding with the payment.
• Once payment is confirmed, candidates will be redirected back to the JOAPS portal where they will receive a confirmation of the fee payment.
• Candidates who have opted for a single test paper can later pay an additional amount to choose a second test paper if desired.

In case of issues during the payment process (e.g., poor internet connection or power failure), candidates can check the payment status on JOAPS after an hour. If payment is not reflected, they should re-initiate the payment process. In case of double payment or system failure, the excess payment will be refunded within 10 working days.

5. Scrutiny and Rectification of Application

Once the application is submitted & the fee is paid, the IIT JAM 2025 administration will begin scrutinizing the applications. This process includes verifying the data provided by the candidate against the uploaded documents. If any discrepancies or issues arise, such as an unclear photograph or signature, the candidate will be informed via email or SMS to rectify the problem within a specified period.

Candidates can check the status of their application by logging into JOAPS. If any errors or missing documents are identified, candidates must rectify them before the deadline. Failing to correct the issues may result in the rejection of the application.

6. Final Submission and Confirmation

Once the application is scrutinized and any rectifications are made, candidates will receive a final confirmation of the acceptance of their application. After successful verification and fee payment, candidates can download their Admit Card from the JOAPS portal.

Important Notes for Candidates:

• Single Application Form: Candidates are advised that they should submit only one application form even if a candidate is appearing for two test papers. Multiple submittals will lead to rejection.
• E-mail/Mobile No: It will be necessary to use the valid and frequently checked E-mail and Mobile No through which all types of information regarding the application process, exam details & updates, are communicated.
• Data Entry Accuracy: Applicants should ensure that the details entered in the application form are correct as the name entered will appear on the JAM scorecard.

IIT JAM 2025 Post-Submission Process 

After successful submission of the IIT JAM 2025 application form, candidates can look out for the post-submission process. The post-submission of the application process includes receiving confirmation mail and tracking the application status. Candidates can check the IIT JAM 2025 application status directly from the official website. Candidates can expect to receive their confirmation mail soon after the submission of the application form. In case of not receive the confirmation mail, check the spam/junk folder in Gmail or contact the college authorities immediately. 

IIT JAM 2025 Admit Card

IIT JAM Hall Ticket may be downloaded by visiting the JOAPS site and logging in with their registered account credentials (enrolment ID or email ID and password). JAM Admit Card 2025 was distributed on January 6, 2025, for applicants who completed the IIT JAM application form 2025 and had their forms successfully accepted by exam officials.

IIT JAM admits card is available in PDF format and includes JAM 2025 test center details, venue, shift timings, and reporting times. Any candidate who does not have the IIT JAM 2025 admit card will not be allowed to take the scientific entrance exam.
