MAT 2025 Exam Centres: The MAT 2025 Exam will be held in three modes, IBT (from home), CBT (computer-based), and PBT (paper-based). Candidates who plan to take the MAT 2025 exam should keep an eye on all the key dates, from registration to the release of admit cards and exam days. Missing any deadline could affect their chances of appearing for the test. The table below includes the important events and dates for both PBT (Paper-Based Test) and CBT (Computer-Based Test) modes. Although IBT (Internet-Based Test) has been phased out, its earlier slots have been mentioned for reference.

MAT 2025 Exam Pattern

The MAT 2025 exam will be held in two modes, Paper-Based Test (PBT) and Computer-Based Test (CBT). The Internet-Based Test (IBT), which was used during the COVID years, won’t be conducted anymore as per recent updates.

There will be 150 multiple-choice questions in total, split evenly across five sections, that’s 30 questions in each section. The exam will last for 2 hours (120 minutes), and there won’t be any fixed time limit for individual sections. Students can move between sections however they like during the test.

Each right answer will give you 1 mark, but for every wrong one, 0.25 marks will be deducted. The Indian & Global Environment section will still appear in your scorecard, but it won’t count towards your percentile or final composite score. Only the first four sections will actually affect your MAT Result 2025.

MAT 2025 Exam Centre: Modes & Centre Allocation

There are three ways to take the MAT 2025 exam: IBT (from home), CBT (online at a centre), and PBT (pen and paper at a centre). If a student chooses IBT, they can give the test from home using a laptop or PC with a webcam and internet. There's no need to pick a city for this mode. For Computer Based Test and Pen and Paper Based Test, the exam happens at physical centres. While filling out the MAT form, students need to select two preferred cities. Based on what’s available, one centre will be given. Once the city is chosen and the form is submitted, it can’t be changed later.

How to Select MAT 2025 Exam Centres During Registration

Candidates applying for MAT 2025 in CBT or PBT mode must choose their preferred test cities while filling the registration form. AIMA allows candidates to select two cities in order of priority. This helps improve their chances of being allotted a nearby test centre. However, once the form is submitted, the selected cities cannot be changed.

For IBT mode, there is no need to select a city, since the test is taken online from home. Check out these steps.

1. Visit the official MAT website: Go to mat.aima.in and begin the registration process.
2. Fill in the details: Enter personal and academic details as required.
3. Select the exam mode: Select CBT or PBT if they want to appear at a physical centre.
4. Choose two test cities: From the dropdown list, select two preferred cities, starting with the most convenient one.
5. Pay the application fee: Complete the payment process and upload the necessary documents.
6. Final submission: Check the form thoroughly. Once submitted, the exam city cannot be changed under any condition.

Note: Choose exam cities that are easy to travel to. Picking the current city or a nearby location can help stay relaxed on exam day and avoid unexpected delays.

MAT 2025 Exam Centres: State-Wise List

MAT 2025 will be offered only in two modes: Paper-Based Test (PBT) and Computer-Based Test (CBT), as the remote IBT mode has been discontinued. Prospects choosing either PBT or CBT will need to pick their preferred test cities during registration. The final exam centre will be assigned based on availability and the candidate’s order of city preference.

AIMA will run the MAT exam in numerous cities; recent reporting cites around 61 locations across India that host either PBT or CBT exams. For example, major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Kolkata will be included. While every candidate will see the venue details on their admit card, only those who pick PBT or CBT will have to specify city preferences.

Is MAT 2025 Exam Centre Change Allowed?

Once candidates submit their MAT 2025 application form, they cannot change the exam centre. This rule applies to both CBT and PBT modes. AIMA does not allow any changes in the selected test cities after the form is finalised, so it's important to pick the exam cities carefully while registering.

If they choose CBT or PBT mode, they need to make sure to select cities that are close to their home or easy to travel to. The system gives them the option to choose up to two preferred cities, and the centre will be assigned based on availability.

For IBT mode, this rule doesn’t apply because they’ll be taking the exam from home. There's no physical test centre involved in IBT, so no city selection is needed.
