XAT 2025 on January 5, Check Here Major Changes Exam Pattern

The XAT 2025 exam will be held on January 5. Since exam day is approaching, aspirants must prepare well to obtain good scores. This year, significant changes have been made to the XAT exam pattern. Candidates appearing for the exam should learn about the major changes in the XAT 2025 exam format so that they can perform accordingly in the test.

XAT 2025 exam will be conducted in a single shift that will begin at 2 pm and end at 5 pm. XAT 2025 admit card has already been made available to the registered candidates. They must check the important instructions regarding the changes to know what needs to be done and what should be avoided on the exam day.

Major Changes in the XAT 2025 Exam Pattern

The major changes done in the XAT 2025 exam pattern are listed below:

  • The exam duration has been decreased from 210 minutes to 180 minutes.
  • The essay writing section has been removed from the entrance exam.
  • Essay writing will now be a part of only the PI round in XLRI shortlisting.
  • The total number of questions in the GK section has been reduced to 20, which was previously 25.
  • The XAT 2025 question paper will now be divided into two parts only.
  • Part 1 will include the following subjects- VALR, Decision Making and Quantitative Aptitude.
  • Part 2 will include the General Knowledge section only.
  • During the PI shortlisting, the scores obtained in the GK section will be taken into consideration.
  • The questionnaire will comprise a total of 95 questions for the examination.

XAT 2025 Marking Scheme

  • +1 mark to be awarded for each right answer.
  • -0.25 marks are to be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • -0.10 marks to be deducted for more than 8 consecutive unattempted questions.
  • No negative marking against any question in the GK section.
