Maulana Azad Student Scholarship Scheme (MASSS)

Eligibility :
The college provides scholarship opportunities to the studentS on the basis of Merit and also to the economically backward students. The Maulana Azad Student Scholarships offered to mbbs student selection is based on the merit of the student. The Academic branch compiles a list of first year mbbs students whose household income is less than 1,00,000 per annum for the current academic year. Students accepted for the Maulana Azad student scholarship scheme (MASSS) must provide the following documents: income tax assessment orders/ return /income certificate /employer certificate from the revenue office as well as the current passbook with their permanent or a present address.
Non Eligible Students:
Students who are already registered for another scholarship and benefiting from it are ineligible for MASSS. First year students who have been kept are ineligible for the Maulana Azad Student Scholarship Scheme (MASSS). Students that have a history of taking part in illegal activities. students whose name appears in the adverse report registrar are unable to receive MASSS benefits.
Mode Of Selection
The committee selecting the deserving student for the Maulana Azad Student Scholarship Scheme (MASSS) will have the authority to select and deselect the candidates. The final decision lies with the Dean of MAMC Delhi.
Duration of the Scholarship:
The eligibility candidate gets the scholarship benefits for four and half years. The period of MASSS cannot be increased over six years. However, in case it needs to be increased more than four and a half years, then the decision shall be taken by the Dean of Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC).
Number of Scholarships:
The scholarship is generally available for 1 student but in case the Dean thinks that another deserving student can be accommodated then there will be +1 candidate who will benefit from Maulana Azad Student Scholarship Scheme.
Scholarship Amount
The candidate selected for the Maulana Azad Student Scholarship Scheme (MASSS) gets Rs 2500 per month.
Scholarship Payment Procedure
At starting the candidate will receive the payment immediately after the selection. Following that the selected candidate will have to submit a payment cum renewal form along with the attendance certificate from the Chairman, Curriculum Committee of the respective year.
Renewal of Scholarship
For renewal of the scholarship the candidates need to submit the payment-cum-renewal form and the proof of the family income.
Restrictions
The student who has been selected for the Maulana Azad Student Scholarship Scheme (MASSS) cannot be eligible for any other scholarships during the term of benefitting from MASSS.
If during the course of receiving benefits from the Maulana Azad Student Scholarship Scheme (MASSS), the candidate is found in any misconduct then the authority has the right to withdraw the candidate’s name from the scholarship scheme. The candidate will also be debarred from receiving any benefits from MASSS in the future.
