Admission: The teachers are all PhDs and older. Some are really helpful, while others can be strict. They all know their stuff though. Teaching can be good at times, but also just okay. The semester exams are pretty tough. Most students pass with an 80-90% success rate.
Placement: To get into IIT Roorkee through JEE Advance, you need at least 98%. The highest salary you can get is around 1 to 1.5 crores each year. Most students usually get around 10-15 LPA. Some big companies that come for placements are Tata Power, Cisco, and Siemens Energy. In the electrical department, about 70-80% of students get internships in companies such as Texas Instruments and Tata Power. Some of my senior friends are doing internships with these companies right now.
Campus: The college hostel doesn't have Wi-Fi, which is a bummer. The labs are okay, but kinda outdated. The classrooms are top-notch though, with some cool digital stuff for teaching. The library is peaceful, thanks to strict rules that keep everyone quiet. Hostels are awesome, but the food isn't always great. We make do. They've got medical facilities and a first aid kit, which is reassuring. The canteen looks really nice and the sports ground is massive. The college really backs sports, which is cool.

Admission: The teachers here are super helpful and quick to respond to messages. They really know their stuff and teach in a way that's above and beyond. The course content is great too because they start from the basics and take us all the way to advanced stuff. It's been a big help in understanding things better.
Placement: The placements here are awesome! Most students get placed like 95%! The highest package is 20 LPA. Big companies like Two Sigma, Quanteye, Amazon, and Google come for hiring. Internships are great too about 60% of students get one. It's totally worth the investment!
Campus: The campus has great facilities for sports and the Wi-Fi works well. The food options are awesome, especially during the weekend dinners when they serve up 10 different dishes. The classrooms are spacious and clean. Love it here!

Admission: The teachers here are really good and know their stuff. The only issue is that not many students are into civil engineering because the jobs don't pay well. The courses are good but they could do more to get us ready for work. If you go to class, passing exams is a breeze.
Placement: The main job you can get after graduating is software engineering, then there are other important roles too. They also have analyst jobs available. The job placements are okay, but the salary offered is not very high usually around 10-12 LPA. Big companies that hire civil engineering students are L&T, BHEL, and some PSUs.
Campus: The hostels are cool. I like the library too. Wi-Fi is everywhere on campus, which is awesome. The labs have all the stuff we need for our classes. The food isn't the best, so lots of us go out to eat instead of eating in the dining hall.

Admission: The exams here are super strict, like they really make sure you're not sneaking in any cheats. A lot of the professors ask really tough questions that make you think in new ways. They grade based on how creative you are.
Placement: The placements here are pretty good. In the last placement session, about half of the students got placed, but we're hoping for a 75% placement rate by the end of the next round. Big companies like Microsoft, Google, and Squarepoint have been coming for placements. And there have been some good internship opportunities too, with lots of students getting selected by top companies.
Campus: The campus setup here is awesome. There are lots of hostels where we can stay without any curfew. It's super safe for us girls to roam around and grow. Plus, they keep building new hostels with cool designs as more students join. It's pretty nice.

Admission: The teachers are really helpful, but most students are too focused on landing an IT job. That's why many don't take advantage of the professors. The curriculum is well-organized and easy to follow. The semester exams can be either easy or tough, depending on the professor who's in charge.
Placement: I'm part of the metallurgy department's 2022-2026 batch. In the first round of placements, only 18 students landed on-campus jobs. That's a pretty low number compared to other departments. Most students are aiming for IT jobs instead of core jobs, so it's tough to attract core companies.
Campus: The campus at my college is awesome, especially since it's an IIT. The hostel and food are good. The classrooms are really nice, and we have super-fast Wi-Fi. The library is huge and has tons of books, perfect for doing research.

Admission: The teachers here are really great at teaching. They know how to help us students learn. The courses are practical and get us ready for the workforce. You can always reach out to any teacher for help. Exams are fair and not too hard.
Placement: I'm studying civil engineering at this college. It's known for its civil engineering program. The highest salary offered is 53 LPA and the lowest is 8 LPA for civil engineering grads. About 69% of students get job offers from companies that come to campus.
Campus: The hostel rooms have Wi-Fi. The food in the mess is good with both veg and non-veg options. They even serve sweets at dinner. There are different canteens for day and night, plus plenty of games and sports grounds.

Admission: The teachers here are really helpful and know their stuff. Everyone from the faculty to the staff is super nice and always ready to help out. The teaching is top-notch, and our course covers everything we need. Plus, there are lots of fun activities organized by the college.
Placement: Around 65% of students from my course got placed, which was pretty good. The highest package offered was around 6 lakhs, while the average was about 4 lakhs. We had some top companies come to our campus for hiring, which was cool.
Campus: The classrooms and labs in our department are super clean and comfy. The campus is huge and awesome. There's a big library with lots of books. The hostel rooms are cool too. And the food in the canteen and mess is really good and clean. Love it here!

Admission: The teachers here vary in how much they help us out. Some are really helpful, while others not so much. But all of them know their stuff and have done their post-docs. We do two exams each semester: mid-term and end-term. Mid-terms are pretty easy, but the end-terms are tough. The mid-term counts for around 40-50%, and the end-term is about 50-60%.
Placement: The college has a good placement rate. In my Civil Engineering branch, the highest salary is around 45-50 lakhs per year, and the lowest is about 7 lakhs per year. The average is 15-20 lakhs per year. Not many students get internships in Civil, most focus on stuff like ML, web dev, consulting, etc. For internships, the popular roles in Civil are in consulting and project management.
Campus: The campus looks good, and the dorms are well-kept, with Wi-Fi everywhere. The lecture halls are huge, fitting a ton of students. Each class can hold around 300 people. They have projectors, blackboards, and plugs for charging laptops, plus fast Wi-Fi. The food in the cafeteria is okay; breakfast is nice, but lunch and dinner are just alright. There's a free hospital for students on campus. And we've got lots of sports options like football, cricket, hockey, volleyball, and swimming.

Admission: The teachers are really good at what they teach. They focus a lot on research. The courses are interesting and keep you engaged. The semester exams are challenging, but getting through them is not too hard because the grading is fair. The curriculum is well thought out.
Placement: I was in the electrical engineering program with the 2025 batch. Out of 170 students, 131 got job offers. The highest salary was 60 LPA, and the lowest was 10 LPA. Companies like Graviton, Microsoft, Amazon, and Google hired students. Also, 88 out of 172 students got internships with companies like Google, Amazon, and Texas Instruments. The main roles offered were software development engineer and data analyst.
Campus: The departments have all the tools and stuff we need. They're all airy and we get Wi-Fi all the time. The library here is huge, one of the biggest in North India. The food is okay, not bad. We also have free basic medical help. And there are lots of chances to play sports and games.

Admission: The teachers at IIT Roorkee are really great - they're top engineers from all over India. They teach in a way that makes sense to us, and they're good at it too. The courses are okay, but doing research projects and internships is key for getting real-world experience.
Placement: The placements at IIT Roorkee are really good. They have a well-organized process and the placement cell is super helpful. In 2023, the highest package was 40 LPA and the lowest was 13 LPA. Companies like Deloitte, TATA Power, and Jindal Corporation Ltd come for recruiting.
Campus: I really like IIT Roorkee because the campus is massive with a stadium, library, playgrounds, and chill spots. They've got everything we need like Wi-Fi, water purifiers, and computer labs. The hostel food is okay, but the rooms are big and comfy.
