Admission: The teachers here are really helpful and know their stuff. They know a lot. The course curriculum sets us up well for jobs in tech. It gets us ready for the real world. Seniors give great career advice. Exams aren't too hard; you can pass without any trouble.

Placement: The pay range is pretty wide from 5 LPA to 60 LPA, with the average being 10 LPA. Companies like Wipro, TCS, Google, and Microsoft come to hire students. You can land jobs as a software developer, data analyst, or in other cool roles. Plus, there are internships available too!

Campus: The labs are really good, but the classrooms could use some more attention. The library has a nice collection of books. The food in the hostel is pretty good. Lots of students are into sports and games here. The Wi-Fi works well. And the mess and canteen are always clean and tidy.

Admission: The teachers here really know their stuff and are experts in their fields. But some professors can be a bit hard to follow. Electrical engineering lets you go into core or non-core areas. Companies come to campus, which is great for getting a job. The semester exams aren't too hard, and professors give tips before exams. Everyone manages to pass their semesters every year.

Placement: I really like the electrical engineering department at JGEC. Most students (about 70%) already have jobs lined up. Companies like Haldia Petrochemicals pay the highest at 6.97 LPA, while Techno Electric & Co. offers the lowest at 4 LPA. On average, we get around 5 LPA. Some big companies that hire from here are Tata Power, HPL, Wood, Worley, L&T, and Jindal Saw. Almost everyone gets internships, whether it's at Siemens, CESC, Tata Power, or even research internships at NIT Durgapur and IIT Kharagpur. It's a great place to kickstart your career!

Campus: Our college has a good amount of labs and classrooms, but some labs need updating. The machines lab and power electronics lab are really good. We also have digital classrooms and a central library. The hostel rooms are nice, but the food in the mess isn't great. Luckily, the canteens serve good food.

Admission: I've always loved learning about electrical stuff from a young age. I enjoy doing small experiments in this area and I'm keen on pursuing higher studies in it. That's why I picked this course. The college is okay, but I feel like it doesn't fully prepare us for the real world. I believe the course is sufficient to land a job, so no major changes are needed. Exams are held once per semester and the papers are pretty easy since it's an autonomous college.

Placement: Once you reach the 6th semester, you can apply for placements. Big companies like TCS, Cognizant, Aditya Birla, and Ultratech come to hire students. They offer salaries ranging from 4-5 LPA based on what they need. This year, the highest package is 15 LPA, the average is 6-7 LPA, and the lowest is 3 LPA. About 40% of students have already got placed this year. I just want a good job to have a good life.

Campus: The college hostels are not great because it's a government college. You'll share a room with two other people and have one bed, table, and wardrobe for yourself. There's no fan in the room, though. The food at the hostels is decent enough to get by. They decide who gets a hostel based on how far your home is from the college. If you live far away, you'll probably get a spot in the hostel.

Admission: Our college teachers are super helpful because they give us tips to ace job interviews. Getting through some semester exams can be tough, but it's not always hard. The passing rate is around 60%, which isn't too bad.

Placement: During our pre-final year, we had training sessions for placements and skills. I'm happy to say that 60% of us got placed in top companies. The highest package was 8 LPA and the lowest was 4 LPA. It's great that top recruitment companies visit our college for software and embedded roles.

Campus: The facilities at our college are pretty average, but they focus a lot on software stuff. The classrooms are fine, but the Wi-Fi in the lab doesn't work well. The computers in the lab are good, but some of them don't work properly. The food here is actually pretty good.

Admission: The teachers here really know their stuff and help us a lot. In my program, most students (around 90%) get job offers from big companies every year. The course goes on for 5 years with 5 tough semester exams. The questions can be really tricky, but it prepares us well for the real world.

Placement: Placements happen every year at this college, and around 40% of students get placed. Lots of companies like TCS, Tata Electronics Pvt., and TNS come for internships. They're pretty involved with the college. You need to have 75% marks to get into this course.

Campus: The college has lots of great facilities like classrooms, labs, fast Wi-Fi, a nice gym, and a good canteen. The hostel even organizes the canteen, so you can find all kinds of food there. It's awesome to have everything we need right on campus.

Admission: I've read most of the relevant stuff in my engineering course. I always wanted to study engineering because I find it interesting. I see a lot of opportunities in this field. I've always dreamt of studying the core branches. There are private colleges too, but I got into this government college based on my rank, so I went for it. The faculty members are really helpful, but some can be tough on us too.

Placement: The college placements are alright. Even if you're not in a core branch, you can still land an average package of around 10 LPA. For core branch students, the package usually falls between 5 to 10 LPA. There are different packages offered for various branches, but the high-paying ones are mostly for non-average branches. The placements for government jobs can be a bit uncertain, but in a government college, they're better than elsewhere. We do get quite a few opportunities from well-known companies.

Campus: I go to Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College, and the campus is massive. I feel really lucky to have such an exciting campus life. There are lots of playgrounds, the main college building, administrative building, and different branches on different sides. The mechanical engineering department has its own area with seats, and there are 4 boys' hostels and 1 girls' hostel.

Admission: The teachers are nice but they also make sure you're on track with your studies. The college sticks to a strict routine for classes. There are plenty of opportunities to show off your skills and have fun besides just hitting the books. Events like Vishwakarma puja, Saraswathi puja, Srishti, the great Jeclat, and farewells are the best ones to look forward to.

Placement: I joined this college for electrical engineering last year (2023). Luckily, I'm in the EE department, which is the most popular and has the best job placements. All the seniors have already been placed in great companies this year. The placement rate is 100%, and the highest salary offered is 12 LPA by "Flakt." It's really promising for us EE students!

Campus: The hostel here is great, with clean bathrooms and dining areas. Some rooms in the first-year hostel need fixing, but they're working on it this year for both 1st and 2nd-year students. The academic building is old, but the classrooms are pretty good. I'm cool with it all.

Admission: The teachers here are super helpful and they all come from top schools. The syllabus is set up to get us ready for jobs. We do industrial training with pros in the field. Our college runs on its own and the exams are fair. Most students pass with an 87% rate.

Placement: Most students in our course got placed, around 80%. Companies like Amazon, Juspay, Celebal Technologies, Hexaware Technologies, Ericsson, and BEL come for recruitment. They mostly offer roles like SDE and SWE. The highest salary package is 27 LPA, while the lowest is 7.5 LPA.

Campus: The facilities in our department and other departments are great. The labs are updated and have everything we need. Our classrooms are new and comfy. The library has loads of books to help with studies. Our college has four hostels for boys and one for girls. And there are plenty of sports options like cricket, football, volleyball, and basketball.

Admission: The professors are really great. They graduated from top colleges. But, the college rushes through the semesters, so we don't learn the syllabus properly. The exams are tough because we have to study by ourselves.

Placement: Last year, almost all students found jobs, with the highest salary being 63 lakhs per year. Someone from the CSE department got that big package. TCS was the top company hiring students. There are internships available, but you gotta have the skills to get 'em.

Campus: The college's infrastructure isn't great. They have some nice smart classrooms with ACs and projectors. But the Wi-Fi is only for staff and professors, not for students. The hostel is just okay.

The college gets us ready for the industry with soft-skills classes, coding help, and boost camps. Exams are fair, and most of us pass with around 8594 percent. The campus environment is great too.

Placement: The college has great placement opportunities for us students. Around 91% of students in our course got placed. The highest salary offered was 18 LPA, the lowest was 5 LPA, and the average was 9 LPA. Companies like TCS, BAJAZ, Wipro, and Amazon come for recruiting. We all got internships at places like TCS and Amazon. The top roles we're offered are software developer, data science engineer, web developer, and application developer.
