Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) Mumbai was established in 2014 under the Maharashtra National Law University Act VI of 2014. It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and also accredited by NAAC with an A+ Grade. MNLU Mumbai offers B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) and B.B.A., LL.B. (Hons.), both of which are five-year integrated programs. Admission to these courses is based on the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). The CLAT 2026 exam will be held on 7 December 2025, and the application window is open from 1 August 2025.

 

At the PG level, MNLU Mumbai offers LL.M. with various specialisations and an M.A. in Mediation and Conflict Resolution. LL.M. admissions are also based on CLAT PG scores, while the M.A. and diploma seats will be filled based on merit and other criteria. The university also offers a short-term certificate course in Mergers and Acquisitions. MNLU Mumbai also offers Ph.D. in Law, with admission through the university’s Ph.D. Admission Test (PAT). MNLU Mumbai Ph.D Admission 2025

For admission to the Ph.D. in Law program, MNLU Mumbai conducts its own university entrance exam, the Ph.D. Admission Test (PAT). Candidates who have qualified for national-level examinations like UGC-NET (including JRF), UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF), SLET are exempted from the entrance test and proceed directly to the interview stage.
