GNM Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course in Odisha for the academic session 2024–25, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Students must have passed the 10+2 examination from the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, or its equivalent.
  • Candidates who have completed 10+2 vocational ANM courses under the CBSE Board or other equivalent boards, recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, are also eligible.
  • Applicants must be at least 17 years old and not more than 35 years as of the application date.
  • For SC/ST candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years and must be a permanent resident of Odisha.
  • Candidates must have passed Odia as a subject at the M.E. (Middle English) or H.S.C. (High School Certificate) examination.
  • Candidates should be medically fit for the course and physically handicapped candidates with locomotor disability of the lower limbs between 40% to 50% are considered eligible.
