CEED 2026 Cutoff: CEED 2026 Part A cutoff is expected to be released by IIT Bombay in the first week of February 2026, following the exam scheduled on January 18, 2026. The cutoff will be shared in the form of the mean and standard deviation of the Part A scores. In CEED 2026, the mean was 45.48 and the standard deviation was 16.98, while for CEED 2024, the mean and standard deviation were 41.90 and 16.72, respectively.
The Part A cutoff is the qualifying mark a candidate must score in order for their Part B answer sheet to be evaluated. This means if students don’t clear Part A in CEED 2026, Part B won’t even be checked. Candidates who meet the Part A cutoff are shortlisted and assigned a CEED merit rank, which plays a key role in further admission processes. However, it’s important to understand that the Part A cutoff is not the same as the admission cutoff. The admission cutoff refers to the minimum mark or rank required to actually get admission into the M.Des programme at participating institutes.

CEED 2026 Cutoff for Part A Admission
There will be two deadlines for CEED 2026.
- Part A cutoff - The minimum mark required in Part A to be shortlisted. The Part B answer booklet will only be assessed if the candidate is shortlisted. The Part A cutoff date will be set in February 2026.
- Admission cutoff - The participating institutes will prepare this cutoff based on parameters such as the number of applications, applicants' merit ranks, seat intake, candidate category, and so on. The admissions cutoff will be announced at the time of seat allocation.
- The merit rank (used for admission) is calculated by weighting Part A 25% and Part B 75%.
