Admission: The teachers at IIEST Shibpur really know their stuff and are always ready to help out. Some are better than others, but overall, they're pretty good. The courses cover important stuff for the real world and give us hands-on skills. Exams can be a bit tough, focusing more on understanding than just memorizing. Most students pass with flying colors, usually over 85%.

Placement: Most Mechanical Engineering students at IIEST Shibpur find jobs, which is cool. The pay ranges from 8.7 LPA to 15 LPA. Big companies like PwC, Tata Steel, and Vedanta Oil come to hire students here. Around 30% of students also land internships, some even at IITs and IISc. The jobs they offer are in analytics and core mechanical engineering stuff.

Campus: The facilities at IIEST Shibpur for B.Tech are pretty good. The classrooms have Wi-Fi, the labs are well-equipped, and the library has lots of books. The hostels are okay - they have basic stuff and are decently clean. The food in the mess is decent, and the canteen has extra snacks. Plus, you can play sports like cricket, football, and badminton on campus. And if you're sick, there's a dispensary for medical help.

Admission: The teachers here really know their stuff. They're friendly and explain things well. Each semester, we have 2 exams one in the middle and one at the end. The mid-term covers half the material, while the final exam covers everything we've learned.

Placement: Around 60-70% of us got placed after college. The top salary package here is 51 Lacs a year, while the lowest is 4 Lacs a year. Most of us got around 7 Lacs a year. A good chunk of us landed internships at companies like Caterpillar and ISRO. A bunch of students in our department go on to do further studies.

Campus: The campus buildings are pretty old. They're not as nice as other NITs. There are 3 hostels for girls, and they're okay. They're building a big hostel for guys with 1000 beds. The hostels have Wi-Fi. One of the hostels is just for new students.

Admission: The teachers here are really great. They know their stuff and are always there to assist us, almost like friends. The course content is practical and sets us up well for finding jobs. Exams are fair, and the questions usually come from the notes. Passing rate is about 40%, so not too bad.

Placement: Around 80% of us find jobs after finishing our studies. The pay varies the highest is around 54 LPA, the lowest is 4 LPA, and the average is 19 LPA. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Tata, and Atlassian are big recruiters here. They offer roles with good opportunities for growth.

Campus: The Wi-Fi is great all around campus. They keep the labs, classrooms, and library in good shape. Wi-Fi works in classrooms too. Our labs are nice, and the computer science lab even has AC. The food in the mess and canteen is good quality too.

Admission: The professors here are really helpful and know their stuff. They've got a lot of experience and they teach well. The teaching is better than most colleges in West Bengal, except for IIT Kharagpur. The course material for first-years isn't super relevant, though. The exams aren't too tough, and most people pass with a 99 percent rate.

Placement: Most students in my department (Computer Science and Technology) get jobs about 85% of us. I usually see people getting around 19 LPA, but the highest is 56 LPA. Big companies like Google, Microsoft, Unstop, and Meta come to hire us. They offer roles like software developer, which is cool.

Campus: There's a sports ground where you can play cricket, basketball, badminton, and football. Each spot has a TV, carrom board, and badminton court. Hostel Wi-Fi is good too. Different labs for each subject are there, and the food in the hostel is okay.

Admission: The teachers here really know their stuff and they're super helpful. The teaching is great. In the first year, we cover basics from all departments so I can't say much about the course yet. But from what I know, the curriculum seems solid. The semester exams are a bit tough, but most people pass with around 80% to 85%.

Placement: I'm a first-year mechanical engineering student. For the 2025 batch, 70.93% of students got placed. The highest package is 21.64 LPA, the lowest is 3.3 LPA, and the average is 7.84 LPA. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Tata Steel, and Vedant hire here. They offer jobs in automotive, steel, and analytics.

Campus: The classrooms in the first year have lots of fans and lights, and they're really clean. However, there's no Wi-Fi. The labs are cool though. The hostel buildings are pretty old and the infrastructure isn't great. We do have Wi-Fi in the hostel with decent speed. The food in the mess is okay. We've got three canteens on campus. Medical help is limited to basic stuff, but they give us health cards. All the sports and games facilities are awesome.

Admission: Passing exams is pretty doable here, whether you study the night before or keep up all semester. Teachers are cool and really want us to succeed in whatever we do. The course material is kinda old, but they start teaching newer stuff in the later semesters.

Placement: Around 90-95 students are in my batch. More than 90% of students get placed. Texas Instruments offers the highest salary package of 32 LPA. TCS offers the lowest package of about 4-5 LPA. Companies like CESC, Tata Steel, and Texas Instruments come for electrical placements. For core placements, we have Google, Microsoft, TCS, and other big names visiting our college.

Campus: The college buildings are old but they're fixing them up. There's like 20 hostels with a big one that fits 1,000 students and a 10-story one. They finished building them already. The girls' hostels are huge and have great food. The boys' hostels are okay and the food is just okay too. But sometimes they surprise us with something good.

Admission: The teachers mostly speak Bengali, which can be tough to understand because of their accent. The course is good and gets us ready for jobs. The exams are tough, but that's why our certificate is worth a lot. Around 40% of students pass.

Placement: In my course last year, most students got placed around 83 percent. The highest salary on-campus was 39 LPA, while off-campus was 83 LPA. The average salary was 14 LPA. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Microsoft, and Google hired a lot of us. Many of us got jobs as software programmers.

Campus: The infrastructure at my college is pretty bad, especially for my course. But compared to other courses, it's not too bad. Only computer science and electrical courses have AC classrooms. The hostel is even worse. Wi-Fi is there, but only for certain things. They give us a health card that covers our hospital bills. The food in the hostel isn't great. And the sports facilities are lacking, with only two big grounds.

Admission: The teachers here are really good at what they teach. They know their stuff and have done some cool research. They are friendly and easy to talk to. We have two semesters in a year. The exams are not too hard, just at the right level. There aren't many classes during exam time, which is nice. The student-faculty ratio is around 11:1.

Placement: The college has a great record for getting students jobs. Big companies like TCS, Wipro, Google, Texas Instruments, Vedanta, and L&T Ltd come for placements. The highest package in 2024 was 45 LPA, and the average was 7.5 LPA.

Campus: IIEST is the second-oldest engineering college in India. The infrastructure isn't top-notch, but it's okay. The food in the hostel mess isn't the best, but at least it's healthy. You can play both indoor and outdoor games at the hostels. They have competitions between the hostels. Wi-Fi works in both hostels and classrooms. There are 4 canteens on campus. The hospital is open 24/7.

Admission: The Electrical Engineering professors really know their stuff. They've got PhDs from top schools and do a lot of research and projects. They're cool and ready to help you out, even after class. But some teachers stick to old-school teaching, so you might need to study more on your own.

Placement: I'm studying B.Tech Electrical Engineering at IIEST Shibpur, batch of 2021-2025. The placement scene for Electrical Engineering looks good and keeps getting better every year. Around 75%-80% of us in Electrical Engineering get placed each year. The highest package is like 40-45 LPA, usually in tech or core companies. The lowest offer is about 5-6 LPA, mostly from mass recruiters. On average, we're looking at around 10-12 LPA for Electrical Engineering students.

Campus: The classrooms are big and have good air circulation. They have projectors and Smartboards for interactive classes. The Electrical Engineering department has cool labs like Power Systems, Electrical Machines, Control Systems, and Electronics. They have all the latest equipment and enough space for everyone. Wi-Fi is fast in both the department and hostel, but it can get a bit slow during busy times.

Admission: The teachers here are pretty smart, but not all of them are great at teaching. Each professor has their own cool way of teaching that goes beyond just lessons. Some make learning fun, while others help you see how important it is to be serious. The faculty is cool overall, but don't expect their classes to be like YouTube videos. This course won't automatically make you ready for the industry, but you'll learn enough to get ready during the 6-month training on the job they give you. Exams are challenging, though.

Placement: Most students got jobs last year, around 85%. The best offer was 22 LPA in Mechanical. Big companies like JSW, JSL, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, and PwC came for placements. They mostly hire for Graduate Engineer Trainee roles. Some students like tech jobs, others prefer core companies. Everyone lands an internship through the college's DTPC program.

Campus: The Wi-Fi is pretty fast, and the library is awesome. There's no AC, though. The canteen options are great with many choices. Sports facilities are top-notch, especially for cricket, volleyball, football, table tennis, and basketball. If you're good at sports, you can join the institute team and play in inter-NIT events. The labs are well-equipped. The buildings are kinda old but they get the job done.
