IIT JAM 2026 Eligibility Criteria: The IIT JAM 2026 exam is tentatively scheduled to take place on February 15, 2026. The JAM Registration 2026 is set to begin from September 05, 2025. Therefore, before the registration starts, candidates should check if they meet the required eligibility criteria of IIT JAM 2026. Test takers need to have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognised university. Additionally, final year students are also eligible to apply for the JAM 2026 exam. There is no specific age limit set for candidates to appear for the exam. Both Indian & foreign nationals are eligible to apply for JAM 2026. IIT JAM 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates are required to meet the IIT JAM 2026 Eligibility Criteria. IIT JAM applicants must have a bachelor’s degree with at least 55% marks from a recognised university. The following are the qualifying criteria for IIT JAM 2026 based on age, country, educational qualifications, and minimum marks required:

Foreign nationals are eligible to apply for the IIT JAM 2026 examination and can seek admission to M.Sc. and other post-bachelor’s degree programmes in participating IITs. IIT JAM 2026 Reservation Criteria
The IIT JAM participating colleges have their own specific reservation criteria for different categories of students. The reservation criteria are set as per the category of students selected at the registration period. Candidates can avail the benefits of the IIT JAM 2026 reservation criteria at the time of counseling sessions. Candidates belonging to any category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS) need to submit their category certificate at the time of the application process. It is also necessary to submit other important documents while claiming the IIT JAM reservation.
